Doesn't sound to be the most robust online league setup, but it's a start and I'll take it. With each passing day I look forward to this game more and more.

It's probably been a decade or more since I've been able to say this, but it looks like this may be the year that EA finally wins back my hockey gaming dollars (though I'll probably still also buy 2k). The 60 fps has me excited, and it sounds like they're building on a pretty good hockey engine. With the Show and APF covering my football and baseball gaming needs very nicely, it's really a good time to be a sports gamer, IMO...maybe there's really never been a better time, for that matter.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in the thread or not but a bud of mine who has been testing NHL 08 confirmed that 5 on 5 online hockey (like Rivals) is in NHL 08.

I am getting very excited for this game. I'm pretty much a casual hockey fan but I love a good hockey video game. When done right it can be the best sports video game experience out there.

The only stain would be the lack of player trades in an online league, ( I just have to have the latest rosters guy), but creating up to 32 teams online is mouthwatering stuff.

Exactly. I have no reason to believe he is lying but I want to see it in writing. Here is his quote from another board I frequent...
Gentleman, EA is stepping up the plate with online leagues and playing online in general, those that played nhl rivals know about some 5 on 5 hockey games on Live well it's coming to 08...like I said this is the hockey game to get
Again, take it for what its worth.

As Sean Penn said as Jeff Spicoli when the pizza was delivered to class in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," "Right here, dude."

No plans whatsoever to get a 360 or a PS3. Have fun with NHL 08 on XBL, boys! :)

Take care,
PK

Pleased as punch with PC gaming. No desire to return to consoles.

And you don't want to. The 360 has the reliability of a Ford Pinto.

Trivia time (and temporary threadjack):

What famous -- or infamous -- and unique American car of the mid-1970s was known by some as "the pregnant Pinto?"

You're on the clock, boys ... :)

I also second the AMC Pacer. I remember the funny commercials on TV regarding that car like trying to fit a 6 foot sub sideways into the back of the car. :D

Grabbed this from OS:

XBOX 360 - Up to 4 players on one console can play up to 4 players on another console.
PS3 - Up to 6 players on one console can play up to 6 players on another console.

OR another online mode:

Up to 6 different players on 6 different consoles in different locations on the world can play together on the same team against 6 different players on 6 different consoles in different locations on the world playing together on the other team.

And if one of players drops out, the AI will take over for them. You can play any combination of teams (like 1 vs 4, 3 vs 3, 2 vs 5 etc)
