Media has been consolidating a lot over the past 10 years.

Murdoch just snapped up the WSJ, despite the reporters union there trying to work out another deal. Rupert has promised editorial independence but we've heard that before.

Clear Channel owns radio and TV stations all over the country. Clinton and then Bush allowed conglomerates to collect up huge numbers of stations.

The reporters may be more liberal but the owners are quite conservative and Clear Channel has flexed its muscles in editorial.

Same is probable true of Hollywood. The executives are conservative and the studios are owned by larger media conglomerates.

Clinton has admitted that allowing deregulation was one of his biggest regrets. No crap. It killed radio...
