I'm with you there. As a Brewers fan I can never root for the Cardinals. I just wish the Brewers would give me something I COULD root for.ScoopBrady wrote:Well, as a fan of the Cubs and WhiteSox this is a bad World Series for me. Two division rivals. Oh well, I hate the Cardinals more and Mags getting a World Series is definitely the lesser of two evils.
I have family in Michigan, so I will root for the Tigers for their sake.

Man and I down in the dumps today. That was a tough loss. Two things that really bothered me... Yadier Molina's eyebrows, and seeing Braden Looper celebrate in the visitors' clubhouse. I really dislike the Cardinals. I'll catch some of this WS when flipping channels, but that's about it. THE PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's going to be everywhere when you .216 on the season and you go on a hot streak in the playoffs. Further, his defensive skills are the best in the NL. Not to mention Yadi had the biggest hit of the series.Slumberland wrote:Spiezio didn't get too much face-time, at least. Molina's tweezed little dough-face seemed to be everywhere.
I'm sorry but nothing was as freaky as the cold sores on Albert Pujols. Yikes...sportdan30 wrote:+Slumberland wrote:Spiezio didn't get too much face-time, at least. Molina's tweezed little dough-face seemed to be everywhere.
Well, I was getting bit freaked out by Jose Reye's METrosexual dances he was doing in the dugout.

I caught that too, like 3 weeks ago. He's been working on it for quite some time, whenever they show him in the field at 1B, alot of times he's got the left side of his lower lip inside his mouth and he's working it.spooky157 wrote: I'm sorry but nothing was as freaky as the cold sores on Albert Pujols. Ah, the wonders of HD. Sometimes we don't need that much detail.

i dont mind celebrating, but that was kinda rubbish in my book... basically rubbing it in.. oh well, what goes around comes around..sportdan30 wrote:Didn't catch that Spooky157. Kinda glad I didn't. But, I did get a kick out of the Cards players chanting the J-O-S-E chant over and over in the clubhouse celebrating the sweet sweet victory.

No, I agree NY. It was rubbish, but the Cardinals are in a position no one expected them to be. It doesn't excuse them. I'm sure it wasn't directed towards the Mets players, or even Reyes. I think it was directed more towards the fans.
Anyways, reports are that Anthony Reyes is going to start the first game for the Redbirds. I have absolutely no confidence in him, as I was really pulling for Marquis to start. It sounds as though Marquis really lost the confidence of Duncan and LaRussa. Anyways, I'm guessing Weaver in game 2, Carpenter in game 3, and Suppan in game 4.
According to the media, it doesn't matter who starts for the Cardinals. Once again, the Cardinals are the underdogs. It's been stated a couple times that if the Cardinals do happen to win the series, it'll be one of the biggest upsets in World Series history. Strange.

I imagine the Tigers are favorites, but they sure aren't playing like it. Jitters for them, and the Cards have been here. Wouldn't be surprised if St Louis wins the series.
They kinda remind me of the 97 Indians that lost to the Marlins(and Jim Leyland). Of all the Tribe teams in that 6 year run of Division championships, that was easily the worst of the bunch, but came the closest to winning it all. Maybe its the Cards turn.

Fantastic starting pitching from Anthony Reyes. I would have never have imagined him pitching eight strong innings. I almost looked at this game as a throw-a-away game.
Great to see Rolen step up and get some big hits. I love Duncan in the number two hole. I'll go nuts if we see Preston Wilson batting second, or for that matter starting another game.
Glad to see the Cardinals are going to make it a series. Also, I can't believe it's been since 2003 since the NL has won a game in the World Series.

I've been camping all weekend, but hey.. we have dishnetwork there.
Couldn't have watched a better pitching performance if it was Carpenter in his Cy Young season. WOW!
I would *love* to steal one tonight and maybe win this thing at home, but I know the Tigers will come out with fire tonight. We just need to keep this one close early and I think our bullpen can battle theirs.
Go Cardinals!!

Perhaps the clubhouse ran out of toilet paper while Kenny was taking his pregame dump to settle the nerves?MizzouRah wrote:What was that on your hands Kenny?
Even if it was pinetar, it was gone after the 1st inning and he pitched just as effectively in innings 2-8. Thank goodness we won't have to see him again until game 6. Sean Casey leaning into the strikezone to get hit by the pitch bothered me more than Rogers poop stain or antics on the mound. That was complete BS, something Biggio would do. I was shocked that the ump didn't call him out. Oh well, it added to the drama in the inning and Weaver was able to work out of the jam.
I'm shocked that LaRussa didn't pinch hit for Molina in the 9th with the bases loaded. I mean, the guy has been playing way over his head, and the mojo is going to run out at some point. I would have pinchhit Belliard in that spot. All we needed was a single to tie the game, and Molina was thinking of going yard again.

Something tells me if it was the Braves in the W.S. going up against a pitcher purposely trying to gain an upper hand, even if it was for one inning, you'd be raising some hell.dbdynsty25 wrote:Wow...at least you're going down with class. Surely you can't be scared of our underachieving team?
This is the last I'll post about this blatant cheating. We couldn't get anything going against him even after washed his hands.

They couldn't do anything against him anyway so no issue.

Cards fans talking about cheating??
Another great game by Rogers. I am not a Tigers fan,but it would be nice to see Jim Leyland take another team from last to a World Series Championship. The only thing I liked about La Russa was his baseball game on my old computer and Sega Genesis.

Yeah, I wasn't even going to bring that up, because it's not like he helped them win a World Series or anything during his tenure, but still. Oh how the Cardinal fans love Big Mac.JackDog wrote:Cards fans talking about cheating??![]()

Big Mac ring a bell??? Hell, he had a section of Busch Stadium named after him.
