MLB - Trades after the trading deadline?

Post by matthewk »

I thought the trading deadline was the end of July? If so, then why am I seeing trades this week? I think it has something to do with waviers, but I don't know much more than that. Can anyone explain how players can still be traded after the supposed deadline?

I don't know why they hype up the end of July as the deadline if it's not really the end of trades for the season.

Players have to clear waivers before they can be traded after July 31, which means other teams can block them.

Which is exactly what I said when people (Javi) started getting all excited that Andruw may get traded, lol. Misguided is a damn good word.

I have been enlightend. I didn't think the Braves would suddenly be willing to part with Jones.

I didn't get excited. It was the fact that Jones got pissed about it that was more interesting to me.

But you haven't posted all of the links to stories that he's fine now and it was a just a misunderstanding...realizing that it happens to EVERY player on the Braves each and every year. Just wondering why you like to only report one side of the story...oh wait, I already know why...you want to get a rise out of me.

Yeah kinda like when you raged on Beltran(and directing it to me) all year long last season but you haven't mentioned him once this year.

You sure teached me well. :D

Teached?

And in the MLB thread I gave Beltran his credit.
