DICK Pound can f*ck off
Remember DICK Pound, the head of the World Anti-Doping Agency, making the claim last year that one-third of the NHL players were using performance-enhancing drugs?
Well, DICK, the NHL's doping tests came back, and NOT ONE PLAYER out of 1,406 tested showed any traces of doping.

So, a big, fat F*CK YOU to Dick Pound.
Take care,
PK

Theodore and Berard both failed drug tests in international competition but did not fail them in the NHL testing. How is that?

I spent 14 years as an auditor of NGO's, and now work for one.
I am therefore in a position to say that an auditor will find exactly what I allow him/her to find - a small error or two keeps them happy, and deflects them away from the surpluses I am salting away for a rainy day
Bear in mind that an NGO is a non-govt organisation, and that my salted reserves will be used to provide more services for our students, rather than my bank account
Same thing here then ?

Probably the same way Bonds never has tested positive.Zlax45 wrote:Theodore and Berard both failed drug tests in international competition but did not fail them in the NHL testing. How is that?
Seriously, Theodore's banned substance was Propecia, an anti-baldness drug, for Christ's sake! Berard was on steroids.
But it is peculiar that Berard was nailed in the international tests but not in the NHL tests. I wonder how far apart the two tests were administered.
Still, I think Dick Pound's claim is baseless and VERY exaggerated.
Take care,
PK

Not that peculiar. I'm sure the NHL does the same as baseball and uses a urine test. These urine tests can't detect better masking agents, HGH or other higher-end steroids. Pretty weak test IMO.But it is peculiar that Berard was nailed in the international tests but not in the NHL tests.
International probably uses a blood test which is MUCH harder to pass.

Come on PK....are you really that nieve? Of course there are guys in the NHL on performance enhancers. Anytime you get paid for performance on an atheltic field, court, pitch, etc. there will be people trying to get ahead by any means neccesary. Thinking that the NHL guys AREN'T is pretty ridiculous no matter what they "find" in all of the tests.

I'm sure there are guys who are on something in the NHL. But not the one-third that Dick Pound claims. And that's my point.

Re: DICK Pound can f*ck off
Having been in a sport in which steroid use was not only rampant, but encouraged in the late '70's and early '80's, I can say that I do not have definitive PROOF as in a failed drug test for Bonds*, but there is NO WAY he not only didn't take them, but was also not knowing what he was taking. Pure BS.Zlax45 wrote:

In 1980 I saw a discus thrower in January of that year who was at one time the World Record holder. He weighed all of 190 lbs on a 6'5" frame. By April, this same individual was 275 lbs and looking like Mr. Olympia. You do NOT accomplish this by just "eating your Wheaties". Try competing against that.....trust me, I am fully aware of most apects of steroid use and I can assure you that Bonds* not only took them, but knew what he was doing from day one.
Dick Pound ain't convinced; http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=168661&hubname=nhl

Unfreakingreal...does MLB know ANYTHING about steroids? Obviously not as the offseason is when many players have an opportunity to get stronger without the rigors of every-day play. MLB needs to wake up and start year-round testing. Everywhere you care to look, there are loopholes galore in their "steroid policy".....Leebo33 wrote:They don't test in the offseason...LOL.

That is what I get for not reading the article....however, what I stated still applies to Hockey, Baseball or ANY sport.pk500 wrote:Leebo's remark referred to the NHL not testing during the offseason.DivotMaker wrote:Unfreakingreal...does MLB know ANYTHING about steroids?
