Anyone that is still looking for a slim PS2

Post by ImDaIcon »

I've been wanting a PS2 for a while just kept waiting for the magic $99 price. With the new $129 price tag I thought I'd bee waiting for a while but FYE is still running a $30 rebate on a new PS2. I was just in there today and picked on up myself. Deal ends Tuesday I believe. So if the $129 wasnt tempting enuff $99 after rebate should help twist your arm so more.

Who does the rebate come from, Sony or FYE?

These days I'm a little uneasy about rebates having just been screwed out of a $30 Logitech rebate.

I didnt see any mention of this rebate on the FYE website.
Are you sure it's true?

The Rebate is from FYE or its parent company Trans World Entertainment Corp. I looked for the deal online once the price droped, and wasnt able to find it myself. The rebate form will print on your receipt. I'm sitting here looking at it myself. Purchase must be made by 4-26. So only another day or 2 left on the deal if interested.

I can certainly understand your gripe with rebates, especially as I'm have a problem with Linksys too. Just photocopy all your stuff and understand you may have to resubmit it.

this auction is over today. If you want to snag a Slim PS2 for cheap,
put a bid in. You never know. It was still at $50 last I looked.

Jack:

The ps2 you're selling is one of the 2 you bought on Ebay righ?

Seems like you where not happy with the guy that sold them to you.

You gave him a negative feedback stating: "BEWARE OF THIS SELLER! Item not "like new-open box item". Item heavily used

Sorry to bring this up, but since your selling the ps2 so hard around here, I think that should have been mentioned.

How much "used" to the ps2 look?

Yes, the ps2 is one of the 2 I got on Ebay. I am reselling them because I bought a new one when the price dropped. I posted the negative feedback on the seller I bought from because that seller advertised his PS2 as a like new "open box item" and it clearly was not new. He doesn't mention the condition in his ads and he makes it "appear" as it is like a new item. My ad now clearly says "used" and I have tested the PS2 and it works perfectly. The only part that shows signs of wear is the controller and I would pick up a new one anyway...who wants someone elses used controller? You can even grab the Logitech wireless for $35 at Target.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with the PS2 I am selling, it's just that it's NOT NEW, but at least I have tested it and it works perfectly. I would never sell anyting to anyone here that wasn't up to par. DChaps bought the other one and he told me his is fine. This seller is some kind of warehouse place that has tons of used PS2's, but their ads are very deceiving IMO.

Why don't you list that it's a little beat up with cosmetic blemishes in the ebay item...if you're selling it, you should divulge that information?

Glad I just bought a new one, instead of buying yours, cuz I woulda been pissed.

Not sure what you are talking about? I never said anything was "beat up". My item says "USED" under the item's condition. I NEVER said it was new. It's not beat up...it's just not brand new.

I may be interested, but first :

1.Have you tested it with cds, blue game discs, dvd movies, and dvd games? Do they all work on it?

2.Have you tested the network adapter, is it working? Have you tested online gaming with it?

3.Does it have the updated AC Adapter for the PS2 slim or does it have the old one? The old one caused a lot of problems and Sony is replacing it for free.

http://www.dealrush.com/ has posted that the FYE deal is valid through May 17th. That is where I purchased my Xbox a couple of years ago when they had the same 30 dollar rebate on the Xbox and PS2.

Just be sure to make copies of everything needed for the rebate, someone there screwed up and ended up sending my rebate forms back saying I sent the wrong proof of purchase which I didn't and I ended up having to go to a website and resubmit it but I eventually did get the rebate.
