I'm glad I put $5 down for this a couple of weeks ago. When I picked it up last night, there was a guy surprised to be getting the last PSP copy they had. He was all, 'I can't believe a soccer game would be popular,' and I was like 'Hey, man, this is New York!' The guys at the store mentioned this game was getting more and more sales every year. Plus it seems these days, stores are only getting 2 or 3 copies of games that they don't get a lot of preorders for. I need to remember to get some money down for ToCA3.
Now we just have to pray Konami doesn't do with next year's 360 version what they did with the first several PS2 versions: refuse to realease it in NA.

Great news- it's been a painful wait. I had promised myself I wasn't going to pick up any new games, but I think I'm going to find myself grabbing both WE9 and Oblivion tomorrow.
Now if only NFL 2K5 would get the BC treatment, all would be well with the world.

Identical...it's just a little more difficult to control because of the nub but you get used to it. It's just a direct port as far as I can tell...maybe a little more difficult on 3* but that also might just be because of the controls I mentioned earlier.Leebo33 wrote:How close is the PSP version to the console version in terms of gameplay only?
Thanks, DB. I'll probably just keep playing the PSP version then. I'm starting to get a backlog of games and the inventory is getting too large. Plus, I don't think they've solved the option file issue for the 360, right? When they figure that out I may pick it up on ebay.dbdynsty25 wrote:Identical...it's just a little more difficult to control because of the nub but you get used to it. If you want to get a taste of Boca-River, try the new Mexican League, thanks to:

Damn!! I always wanted to do a master league with Chivas, now I have to go repurchase WE9 Bah.
My guess is that you would have to buy the created player during one of the transfer windows. There is a special section where created players are listed. Choose "Negotiations" from the main ML menu, then choose "Search" and then "Search by Group". From there go to the last menu where there are "Newcomers", "Non-affiliated", "Others", and "Edited Players". Your created player should appear in that last group.
there are a ton of players grayed out...do they ever become available?jimd wrote:My guess is that you would have to buy the created player during one of the transfer windows. I am not sure about that. I know you can buy guys in the player shop during an ML campaign and they will eventually show up.Zeppo wrote:I'm not sure, but I think to have created players in the ML you have to have them in the database before you start the ML, no? Sort of just guessing here, but I think I remember that from somewhere.
As for the grayed-out players, it is probably because you are outside the transfer window. I think everyone is grayed-out unless it is a negotiating period.
Well, you would still be able to put them on your list and such. Classic players from the classic teams or the individuals that you buy in the shop will show up once you buy them, but I do think in the manual it says something about creating players before you start.jimd wrote:I am not sure about that. The game works great on the 360. The only problem is that it has major underscan, which you can't get rid of even with the 'screen settings' options in the game. But in actuality, that makes it look better in a 'justify' mode, as there is less distortion!
But the 360 controller is miles, I mean miles, beyond the Xbox controller. It's so nice to have the shoulder buttons instead of the white/black buttons, and the analog stick is so much better than any other controller, it's just great. Of course, the d-pad sucks horrendously, so if that's how you like to play it could be a drag. There is one weird little sound glitch, where a constant sine wave will linger on after you leave a pause, but you can clear it by pausing again. And then, I don't know about option file stuff, either. I would love to be able to transfer my option file and my ML from the Xbox, but so be it. The controller is so much better, I don't mind going back to the default stuff and changing the team and stadium names, at least, manually bit by bit. Online it plays great as well, though the voice chat is extra quiet.
After a small upgrade thru live, the game works just fine, although if you have an HDTV, the game only covered 3 quarters of the full screen, unless you manually stretch it. Graphically speaking I couldn't tell much difference than playing it with the original xbox.kevinpars wrote:Can anyone vouch for this game working on a 360. I know it is considered backward compatible, but does it work well or just partially?
