(I am also playing Condemned and I have had about enough of being in the dark.) I have heard that if you don't catch vampirism early that it is a b*tch to get rid of it. I guess i need to be careful when I head out of the city and back out into the forest.
First thing I usually do is go and contract vampirism. If you leave it at the first "stage", sunlight doesn't affect you at all, there's no noticeable difference in gameplay other than your face changes a bit, you get +5 to a whole bunch of crap, and you get Hunter's Sight. Hunter's Sight is worth the price of admission....30 second night eye and life detect all wrapped into one nice little package. Perfect for dungeon diving.

The only thing you have to do is find a bum to feed on while they sleep every couple of days to keep all the benefits of vampirism and none of the side effects. For tougher quests, I'll rest up and go full vampire...get the 2 minute invisibility and silence ability and all that and just lay waste to things.

First tab, first page (the tab that has the health/magicka/fatigue bars to open it). It will list your character name, race, class, and level.

I've actually been playing it pretty clean. I paid off my bounty to join a Fighter's guild and have kept a clean record since then.
I'm with Leebo - and I'd join the fighters guild if only i could find the Cheydinhal bloke.

I have to say that if I was going to start again, I would not go as heavy on thief skills. Sneaking and thievery are no where near as sophisticated in this game as in Thief or the Clancy games and come at a sacrifice of strength. Sure, I can sneak around, but when I have to fight, I am at a huge disadvantage. I find myself darting around the arena trying to fire my bow without get my head crushed by some huge orc with a hammer. But I am at level 8 now and not interested in starting over.
As a thief, why are you in the arena? You should be looting the homes of the meat-fisted fighter folk that *have* gone to the arena!

:D

Seriously, though, I know what you mean. I'm playing an stealthy character (Agent) myself and I know how bad they are in hand to hand combat. And 2 gold per arrow tends to add up quick, especially since I wasn't really planning on doing much in the way of stealing.

My guy is a Redguard warrior with sneaky thief tendancies. His class is archer, but I do just as much if not more fighting with the blade. Get that first sneak shot in with the bonus, then grab the sword and commence to hackin. I've gotten quite a few one-shot kills with the bow on lower level creatures. I'm now a journeyman sneak, so I can wear boots of any weight and they will not affect my sneaking.

Ya...

I rerolled a different custom character (Good Fella). Fighter type with strength & endurance with a little bit of a thief mixed in.

I'm playing as a Spellsword, but definitely have a klepto streak. Spellswords get 60 seconds of invisibility each day, which sort of encourages me. I got fixated in Chorrol on pickpocketing the key to a secret Cathedral room from a sleeping clergywoman, got caught but escaped, then snuck back in a bit later with the guards looking for me. I was terrified. Finally got the key and booked out of town, but the guards found me and I decided to fight. Realized I didn't want to endanger any guild memberships by killing him, so ran back to the stables and stole a horse. They gave chase, but I finally lost them heading southwest towards Kvatch for the next main storyline quest. 'Twas nuts.

Do things ever 'blow over' in a situation like that? Or can I anticipate trouble from the guards next time I stop by Chorrol?

I had a real 'wowzers' moment riding the horse from Chorrol to Kvatch... there's some sort of inclined plain that ends at a ridge, and only as you clear the ridge does Kvatch suddenly come into view, all at once. It looked amazing.

Gurantsu, great tip with clicking the right thumbstick and using the triggers to customize the third person view. The walking, to me, is the most awkward animation, and making it more of a "GR:AW" view looks great, especially on horseback, and crops out that weird gliding look when feet touch (or don't touch, as the case may be) the ground.

I'm trying to get some information from a dude and I don't have enough gold to bribe him...how the hell does the mini game work...you know, getting information. The pie thing doesn't really explain itself and since I rented the game, I don't have the manual. I'm trying to get Olav to tell me about some vampire guy (don't remember the name) at his Tap and Tak shop.

You're slipping, DB. This thread, page 4:

I didn't post, but it's pretty simple.

When you select a quadrant when you are persuading people, look at their expression. If they are pleased, you want to 'use' that quadrant when most of the pie is filled up. When they look angry or displeased by a quadrant, try to make the pie as empty as possible when you use it there.

The game then basically adds up the good hits you got, subtracts the bad ones and the time you took, and applies that to the NPCs score.

I used to have very simular experiences but I never thought to call her or any single one of them an orc.

Walked in to the Gamestop last weekend weekend to see what was up and after a quick trip back home to pack up My XBOX and everything I owned ...I walked out with one along with Oblivion And GRAW(which I havent touched except to see if it works)...

I like it...but...I do have buyers remorse..I really hate when I impulse buy...Now I know Im going to wind up with mutiple systems again. I actually thought I would be smarter this time. Once a sucker always a sucker.

The kicker is I can no longer play WE9 or TOCA3
I didnt want to trade all that in but I wasnt going to use a credit card and I didnt have enough free cash without it.

Slumber, I don't think that will blow over. You've got a bounty on you now. The only way to get rid of it is to bribe somebody to get rid of the bounty and clear your name. In Morrowind that guy belonged to the Thieves Guild. That might be where you want to start looking.

I had a question about the leveling system. I’ve read that enemies level up with you in this game. Does this mean that when you are at level 1 that a skamp is level 1 and then when you are at level 50 that the same skamp is level 50? If that’s the case I’m not sure I’m too fond of it. If I’ve leveled my character up, that skamp should be easier to kill, not equally as hard. I could be wrong about how I am interpreting this though.

I’ve also read that NPC’s that assist you in quests don’t level up with you. This means if you do a bunch of stuff and get to level 25 before starting the main quest then all those NPC’s who are suppose to help you fight are going to drop like flies when you go into battle. You’re going to have to do everything yourself. I think the quest in question is the one where you close the first oblivion gate. I just completed this last night, so I may not have a problem. I don’t know if there are going to be other quests with NPC’s assisting me in battle though.

I’m sure I’ll find out as I play more.

One of the options when you speak to a fellow member of the thieves guild is to have your bounty paid off. I dont know if they can all do it or if they will refer you to who can.
