Nothing at my CC in Buffalo - they had no idea. I'm one of suckers who didn't think the shortage would be so bad and sold our xbox and ps2 to pay for the 360. Now I'm left with nothing!

Well, none at my CC and they weren't on the shelves earlier. I asked the lady in electronics if they were expecting any in the morning and she didn't think so but I don't think she had a clue.

I have to work 5-9 tonight(at Target) so i'll get the skinny on what's going down as far as Target goes.

Well, I'm taking a day of vacation tomorrow to see if I can track down a system from this supposed shipment. I have 5 Walmarts, 2 Targets,Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, 2 Rhino stores, 2 EBs, and 2 Gamestops within a fifteen minute drive. If I come up dry tomorrow I am officially giving up the hunt as this whole search has done nothing but stress me out this week.

I think we are all going to come up dry tomorrow. I think the Press Release in the first message and the other articles I have seen are all full of s***. Are you telling me this big resupply to retailers is going to occur on the exact same day for every store and chain? So MS drop shipped the 360's today to every store instead of just sending them out at regular intervals during the week?

I think the whole thing is bullshit and was just put out there to pacify people, I have not seen a single post in any of the forums I go to this week of someone getting one via retail. My local Gamestop is still outstanding 50 pre-orders, they haven't a clue when those will be in.

MS should be taking a pounding for this in the press, but no one cares enough about this industry to do so.

For what it's worth - I checked with the manager of the Gamestop where I purchased mine and he said they are telling there second shipment people by December 12th as of now.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons that I'm taking tomorrow off to try to find one. But I'm not too confident I'll find a system. If "units are on the ground and on their way to retailers this week" as he says then I find it odd that nobody here, at teamxbox.com, and the xbox.com forums has managed to find a store receiving systems even as late as this afternoon.

Au contraire, it has been covered in the press a lot but in positive terms, like "360 so popular it won't stay on shelves." This I'm afraid is where the marketing wonks have led us. It's all about pent-up demand creating it's own marketing for a product. The whole thing is insane, but it works. Everyone will be talking about trying to score a 360 for the holidays which will translate into better sales for MS for a long time after.

I love how when this happens everyone is "so surprised" at the "inability to meet the huge demand." Horseshit. They spend millions on marketing research and know exactly what their factories can crank out at a given date. Face it, the companies love the fact that folks are cracking each other up side the head for these at Walmart and that people are driving all over town to no avail.

Sony with the European launch of the PSP and that internal marketing memo that was going around the web for a while had to be one of the most blatant examples. If I remember correctly it was raining on their strategy of "capturing pent-up excitement" which prompted the lawsuits against UK importers.

I'd like one as much as the next guy, but I'm trying to let life go on and not fall into the trap they've so carefully set.

FWIW, my order from EBgames.com shipped today and I am in the second shipment. I ordered a week after the Aug. 30 cutoff date. I haven't got the email from them yet but it shows up in my order status. FedEx already has it and it will be here tomorrow by 3.

I hear you man, I'm constantly calling stores down here and they don't even know when they will get one.

Really frustrating to say the least.

And there's no way I'm overpaying for a console, so I'll just go about my life and wait for it.

Look I can wait, but don't say they will be in stores by the end of the week or for the weekend when it is complete BS. Seriously looking at various web forums not one person in the country has found one since launch?? How can they say they are being made 24 hours a day, shipped daily but not one person in America has found one?

I think I will just order from EB online and wait til March LOL

Nothing so far. I'm going to try again when FedEx shipments should be showing up. And if I find a place that has any and will sell me more than one I'll buy all I can. Fshguy gets first pick of any extras but if I can get more than one I'll offer it to DSP members at cost plus shipping. But I really don't think I'm going to find anything today.

I've actually seen a few posts on IGN from people who have found some since. One was a Target in Minnesota earlier this week. There's also some rumor that Best Buy has received some but are holding them until the 18th.

actually someone on OS scanned an internal Best Buy memo that said stores would get them on the 16th, but each store must hold 20 premiums for the 18th because they are running an ad that day.
