Slumberland wrote:Zeppo, are you still calling around tonight? The lines at every store in Manhattan today were ridiculous. I drove to Target in College Point this morning, but the line looked way too long and it would have made me late for work... which would have been fine if it were a surer bet, but it looked grim. Speaking of grim, all the lines I've checked out in the last couple days really gave me the creeps. People I would not want to hang out with.
I'm in North Carolina now. I may do some seeking around tomorrow, as my sis and bro. in law both have to work, and my folks will be sittin' around reading. But I'm not expecting much, considering there are three major colleges within 14 miles of where I'm sitting. . . .

Still, maybe those K-marts and Targets etc. that didn't get their expected shipments before today will get them tomorrow, so I'll check around. Ain't no way I'm going out on Friday, though.

Just thought I'd share the prices that one can fetch via eBay if they had considered selling their 360. Keep in mind this is the Core that I payed 299$ for.

I'll take what I can get now man...I don't give a damn. LOL...it's all good. I'd probably have taken the 600 and run too. I don't expect people to lose profit because of me...hell naw.

Don't forget about me. I'm not that upset that I didn't get one, but I'd buy a 360 if I could find one. I live a few miles from BB, CC, Costco, Target so I'll probably check there in person once a week and call once a week.

I refuse to buy a Core and I will not purchase a bundle with anything more than say an extra controller and a game or two. If I have to wait until February then so be it.

I'm in the loser camp too. I didn't even want one until this past week.

I saw on ebay that someone sold their 360 for $2,550. Even if I had gotten one I would have a tough time resisting selling it right away once I knew I could turn it around like that.

Zep - I've been looking all over the city and have been SOL. Rumor has it that there are some stores in the Bronx with the 360 in stock. I might have to check that out.

I've gotten that and the "Please put this disc in an Xbox 360" message with Madden. I'm exchanging it for a new copy today. Hopefully that will resolve everything. Other than that my 360 is handling like a dream.

Yes I am a loser and I am steaming over it. I should have never canceld my pre-order. I only cling to the hope that this whole thing is a lie by my boss and weds at the Xmas party I will have one. I think the chance of that happening is 1% :(

Good luck in the Bronx, spooky of the 157. I can't imagine those rumors are true, but what the heck, check it out. I mean, we are chasing wild geese here!

I just received an email from XBL yammering on about "Xbox Live for Xbox 360 is here!" My goodness, talk about finding ways to piss people off. . . . They couldn't do a better job of that if they tried.

I stopped by a Target in the south of VA on the way down here to NC when we pulled off for gas, and they didn't even get theirs in, just like the Sears I tried yesterday morning. Of course, I only found that out after the clerk said to me, "yeah, we should have those in, let me check."

I wish I could resign myself to just accepting that I will get one in February, but reading all these impressions around here really makes it tough. Maybe I need to just stop coming by here. The only reason I want one so badly is because I don't have one, and that's ridiculous. Hell, I wouldn't even be able to mess with it until I get back to NYC on Tuesday.

Hey NYCers, what is the story over at J and R? Their website and 800 number won't give any info, directing everyone to the retail store. I think I'll try calling the 212 number and seeing what is up. I wonder if they have any clue when they will get more. I doubt it.

No luck yet here in metro Atlanta. Checked Targets this morning. I have heard about 10 different stories about shipments of more 360's:

1) Shipments will be coming in daily
2) Shipments will be coming in weekly
3) Shipments will be coming in when they come in
4) Shipments will be coming in early December
5) Shipments will be coming in mid December
6) Come back in January. Have a great holiday!

Anyone have solid info? I suspect that it will be a matter of hitting a Target/Walmart/TRS at the right time. But with it being Christmas shopping season, I am not going to want to be running out that much.

Zep - I wish I could come to grips with not getting one period. I mean this is just a terrible job by MS in launching this console. Not only did the stores not get enough untis, no one knows when they are getting more. Not one store I talked to has an idea of when and how many they will be getting in. The EB's & GS near me still have hundred of pre-orders to fill before they can even begin sellign systems.

I can't recall who said it, but it is a shame when a consumer wants to drop over $500 and they can't. Within 5 miles of my house there are 2 EB's, 1 GS, 1BB, 1 CC, 2 Tagrtes, 1 Sams club and 1 Walmart. In my checking the last two days I started jotting down how many they received:

EB's 22 total (10 & 12)
GameStop: 11
Best Buy: 57
Cicrcuit City: 15
Targets: 81 (42 & 39)
Sams club: 4
Walmart 18
Total: 208

Is that a good number? I'd expect Best Buy itself to get 100 - 200 untis for a launch. They didn't have any problem filling those Best Buy Trucks for the launch event out in the desert. :)

Add me to the loser list (not that I every got off it). The wife attempted to dig one up as a Christmas gift, and no one will even take any new orders. That's the part that's frustrating.

I am hoping that this is just a temporary shortage and not like the multi-month PS2 wait. No one seems to know anything for sure.

Come on, Dan, admit it: It's a terrible job by MS because your boss f*cked up and you don't have your 360. :)

Still, getting a free Xbox 360 from your company is better than a free turkey or something else, regardless of when it arrives. We get a piece of engraved Waterford crystal every year here at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Looks nice on my bar or in my china cabinet, but it doesn't play Project Gotham 3 or NBA 2K6!

Look on the bright side. It's a video game console, not a blood plasma shipment or organ donation to keep your loved one alive!

Happy Thanksgiving.

Take care,
PK

Well I thought this would be like the Xbox release. I walked into Gamestop a few days later and they had a few.

Was I wrong.

The news is that they want to sell 3 million within the next month. I don't know what they means. Is that worldwide or just for the U.S. I have a sneaking suspecion that there will be a few 360s available on Black Friday. It sure is a brilliant strategy so far for only being day 2. Create demand then ship the supply. That is unless they are having production problems or shipping problems. But I think withing two weeks, if you are willing to pay retail you'll have one.
