NFL Discussion Week 11
Bears looking good early. Atlanta seems to be headed on a downward spiral, down yet again at home.

The Bears defense really played well today. Delhomme was under pressure all day and was sacked 8 times. Hopefully the Bears will get a little respect nationally after this game. According to most of the press they weren't even going to be close in this game and they dominated the game on both sides of the ball despite what the final score was.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Bears, were awesome today!! I was getting pissed with Muhammed. It seems like he had more drops today than he had all year. I couldn't believe he dropped the one in the endzone and then another easy one on the easy first down play. After those drops it looks like Orton started hitting Gage alot more. Very impressed with Gage after this game. He looked great. I was worried when we lost Bradley, but it looks like Gage is really stepping up.
I feel sick in the pit of my stomach. I felt the same after last week's debacle, and this week is almost worse (almost, not quite; though the whole Norv thing adds extra umph to the pain).
The Redskins stink. Forget the playoffs, they need to win four out of six just to go 9-7, and I don't see that happening.
I guess I always knew it would be a three year plan with Gibbs, but hopes got inflated this year with the good start. Now we see the real team, a team that can't beat a second-rate Tampa team with rookie QB, and a team that can't win at home against a terrible Raiders team who only mustered 16 measley points. Too many turnovers.
I simply refuse to believe that teams like the Bears, the Giants, and the Cowboys are better than the Redskins, but the turnovers are insurmountable. The NFC is a joke. The 'best' team in the conference right now is the Seahawks, and lemme tell ya folks, I've seen em in person, and they ain't that good. There must be 5 or 6 teams in the AFC better than anyone in the NFC.
Bears fans, feel good, go ahead. But don't get too high on yourselves. You are in the worst division in football, and that is sayin' a lot, because there are a few bad divisions in football. Like the division the Seahawks are in, for example. I think Orton is good, but he is still a rookie. He has a tremendous up-side, but the fact he's a rookie is not going to serve you well in the playoffs.
Of course, all that matters is Ws and Ls. I think I'm gonna be sick . . . .

And the Redskins beat the Giants at FedEx last year, 31-7.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Zeppo wrote:

It's called denial.
Giants beat the Skins 36-0.
Again, denial.
Wait for Christmas Eve. Mara will have been dead a long time by then.
Yeah, it was a cheap shot, I admitbdoughty wrote:That was a heartwarming holiday season moment if there ever was one.Zeppo wrote: Wait for Christmas Eve. Mara will have been dead a long time by then.

But still, you can't discount the effect his passing had on that team, which hleped lead to the 36-0 drubbing. That and the fact that the Redskins stink . . .
Still, I'm looking forward to Xmas eve, even if the skins have no shot at the playoffs. Eli don't play too good on the road.

I'm too lazy to look, but I hope this is the last time the Texans will be on my TV during a Sunday or Monday night game...
A brutal team to watch.
The Colts D needs to tighten things up. The front four hasn't generated much pressure over the past few weeks or so after dominating games early on in the season.
And now it is time to prepare for a trip to Lambeau for tomorrow night's game.

I understand the desire to do that, and I think the next set of contracts does contain some flexibility for the networks, it sucks for the fans. I'm going to the Indy-San Diego game later in the year, and depending on what is scheduled for Sunday or Monday night, they might have chosen that game to move to Monday night. Bad news for me, my flight leaves Indy early on Monday morning. I'd be pissed off.Sudz wrote:the schedule for monday and sunday night games......HAS SUCKED. they should set these up 3 weeks ahead of time.
Sh*t happens in the NFL, teams go from good to bad and vice versa in a hurry.

Everyone's welcome on the Bears bandwagon. I'm just happy there is a bandwagon this year.XXXIV wrote:Bears fans ya got room for one more???
What an ass kicking...
Bears are for reals. They are pretty offensively challenged, but as long as they can run, they can win. Nice to see them start the tough stretch of their schedule with a convincing win. The Tampa game should be a great defensive slugfest next week.
