All IGN reviews for sports games IMO are garbage...I don't get the sense that any of those guys are AVID sports people..I don't want some dude reviewing my sports one day and Mario Kart the next.

IGN Sports reviewers rarely provide the in-depth information I want to know about the game fro the perspective of someone who is committed to sports games...They are often light on details and off base on what should be discussed...Its kinda like they are a bunch of high school students throwing together a project at the last moment. NJo outline or plan just some random jibberish thoughts while playing the game.

The Madden and LIVE reviews were garbage...The content that is..Nothing...I mean these guys seem to think that HARDCORE sports gamers are deply into setting hot dog and ticket prices and playing mini games for points to buy things to fix up their CRIB...IMO these dudes have no clue.

IGN is good for videos, screens and general information but their reviews suck...I don't care if its a good or bad review for whatever game..IGN reviews are GARBAGE IMO. Can't trust them

That is because all the guys at IGN who were good at reviewing sports games went to work for Visual Concepts. Brandon Justice, Dave Z and Anthony Chau.

Which has been the consensus around here for, oh, about four years.

Hey, your opinion is valid, as all of ours are. But to step in here with your first posts as if you're Moses bringing the gaming tablets down from Mount Atari goes over like a wet fart in church.

We're not expecting you to kneel prostrate before us. But also understand that this isn't the IGN or GameFAQ's forum. We are mature, rational gamers who know our sh*t here, so your words about IGN and game reviews, in general, are remedial, at best.

Take care,

No problem...after my time with it, I have to say that I'm very impressed, but I can't really call it a "must buy" for everyone (at this time).

Will I be first in line on Tuesday...you betcha. But I'm probably the biggest hardcore gaming nerd I know, and I'm also getting it for free (after selling my extra preorders). I also MUST have the latest s***, and my 60" HDTV is crying out for it. Lastly, I'm looking forward to getting 5 launch titles (madden, 2k6, pgr3, perfect dark, and doa4), and getting back onto xbox live.

But for everyone else, I suggest you get to a kiosk and do your own research. Find out if enough launch titles will interest you enough to warrant a purchase. I have a feeling that we're going to experience alot of "growing pains" with this first gen of releases that don't yet take full advantage of the hardware...expect to see a tradeoff in gameplay for graphics (albeit very beautiful graphics)...ask yourself if that's good enough.

Think twice before you sell your xbox, too. With Microsoft's version of "backward's compatibility", you may miss out on alot of games coming out that WILL take full advantage of current gen hardware. I will definitely keep mine for at least another year.

Anyways, I hope my impressions didn't scare anyone off...I just wanted to point out what I saw, and hopefully make the wait to Tuesday a little easier for you guys. 8)

I'm holding my breath for a profound statement, because I haven't seen one yet.

Keep it up: You'll be stripped faster than Terry Metcalf carrying the ball like a bread basket for the Cardinals in the mid-70s. Doubt you're old enough to catch on to that metaphor, anyways.

All I'm saying is that if you have something substantive to contribute, feel free. Otherwise, don't waste the bandwidth. And saying IGN's reviews suck isn't exactly a news flash around here, Ace.

Here's a suggestion. Take this and dip it on your fingertips:

Why? Because it's pretty clear through your first 11 posts that you have diarrhea of the fingertips, and I'm trying to help you find relief.

Hey PK some good news. Syracuse has the lead 3-0 going into the 2nd qtr. :)

Free Speech? LMAO oh I swear that cracks me up anytime it is used. Especially when it is spelled incorrectly.

Insightful.

I am sensing another Madden or X360 thread headed for a lock.

So what? That's only natural. That's different than letting people think for you though. If I decide not to buy a certain car and then I read a poor review, why shouldn't that make me feel better? It doesn't mean other people are thinking for me it just means that my thought process and judgment is being postively reinforced. There's a big difference. In fact, I would say that just going around buying everything without properly taking into consideration others views is actually "not thinking."

Are you telling me people don't do the opposite? Tens of thousands of people pre-ordered the Xbox 360 before even the price or launch list was finalized. Are you telling me those people weren't really excited when they saw the PGR and COD2 videos and are kind of ignoring the poor review scores and constant references to the crop of release titles as less than steller feature-short ports of existing games?

You dudes with 1 trillion posts and no life kill me acting as that really means anything...I don't give a f*** about anything you say and I will type anything I want until otherwise stripped of that privlege.

The funny thing is hiding behind a CPU and acting important because ya got 11k posts is a far greater than saying the same thing to someones face and thats pretty much my motto...If I wouldn't say it to your face..I wouldn't say it in a forum...Hopefully I have made myself perfectly clear...Thats why I had no desire or intention to address you but I'm sorry to have peed on your territory and caught your attention...Now you can try and show out for your minions and I'm sure the usual suspects wilkl be hear to hug your nutz on this one but I'm really not caring one bit. I'll keep typing until that fateful moment that I lose the privilege to dialogue with the cream of the gaming world crop

Dude you started off with a fairly dumb post but that's no big deal. The macho tough guy routine though gets old real fast. It's a freaking message board. Everybody takes their lumps and I disagree with nearly everyone here but it's no reason to act like an ass. Why don't you just calm down and take a break before you say something really dumb and get banned.
