Dan, I've always been a Chevy guy but a few years back I bought a new Nissan Xterra. I had problems with it from the start. I got the run around from the dealer, his sales staff, service sales jerks. I finally got smart and spoke to the mechanic who was working on it. The mechanic told me my Xterra was crap not like all the other ones he'd work on which are superior quality. He told me mine should be recalled and six months later the model was. He also stated he told this to the sales people who never informed me.

To make a longer story long, I forced them to give me a new Xterra. The mechanic mysteriously no longer worked there but was hired by another Nissan dealer which I now go to. The morale of the story is screw the sales people talk to the greasemonkeys. Whenever I buy a new or used vehicle I always request to speak with one of the experienced mechanics. I also request to take the used vehicle to a mechanic who I trust for a lookover. Most dealers give you a 30 day guaranrtee regardless. If the dealer refuses I don't buy or do business with that dealer. The Nissan dealership I deal with is one of the few that doesn't hassle me about my demands. Which is why I am a converted Nissan dude.
