College Football Pre Season Thread #3 (Big East Pick Em)
The first games are September 1st so only a month away. Every couple days I will throw out a conference and those intrested can pick the order which everyone will come in. They will be bookmarked and the results tallied at the end of the year. Will do the conferences in alphabetical order and once they are done have everyone throw out their preseason Heisman, BCS and Championship picks).
Here are the teams. Simply put them in order and place a * beside each team you think will earn a bowl bid. If you want to explain your picks by all means do so. Also answer the question at the bottom if you wish.
Week One - ACC Picks
Week Two - Big 12 Picks
Week Three is the Big East
Connecticut
South Florida
Louisville
Rutgers
Syracuse
Pittsburgh
West Virginia
Cincinnati
Championship game winner - (Not Available for this conference)
Conference Player of the year -
Conference Upset of the year -

Conference Upset of the year - Rutgers over West Virginia at home
Rutgers will be my Bill Murray Cinderella story this year getting to a bowl game (based heavily on a favorable schedule and many teams like Syracuse, WV and UConn having to replace key players).
Tough conference to pick outside of the top two and bottom two.
Syracuse has a new coach, a focus on defense, a new west coast offense and a BRUTAL schedule (Florida St, UConn, Pittsburgh, Louisville and Notre Dame all on the road plus they have Virginia at home).
West Virgina has to replace their QB and a few key players. They might get to a bowl game but I am holding off on giving them the manditory 6 wins based on their schedule (if they beat Syracuse in the opener on the road and UConn near the end of the season at home they have a shot at 6 or 7). They are the hardest team for me to judge this year so far.
UConn lost alot of players including their QB, a couple solid LB's and receivers.
Rutgers on the other hand could be a wildcard and has plenty of key returners, especially on defense where they need it most.

I personally think that there is going to be a big discrepancy between Louisville and Pitt and the rest of the league. I think that Louisville is going to go unbeaten and I think that Pitt will lose two games. The rest are a bit of a free-for-all. Player of the year comes down to Brohm, Palko, Bush, Lee and Andre Hall from South Florida.
