College Football Pre Season Thread #2 (Big 12 Pick Em)
The first games are September 1st so only a month away. Every couple days I will throw out a conference and those intrested can pick the order which everyone will come in. They will be bookmarked and the results tallied at the end of the year. Will do the conferences in alphabetical order and once they are done have everyone throw out their preseason Heisman, BCS and Championship picks).
Here are the teams. Simply put them in order and place a * beside each team you think will earn a bowl bid. If you want to explain your picks by all means do so. Also answer the question at the bottom if you wish.

what kind of cop out is this? the whole point is to make your PREDICTIONS.bdoughty wrote:Texas/Oklahoma (whoever wins the Red River Rivaly wins the South and the Big 12 championship)
here's mine:
north
missouri
colorado
corn
isu
ku
ksu
south
OU
Texas
TAMU
TTech
OSU
Baylor
upset: KU over Corn.
Sameold-sameold: OU big over Texas in RR shootout.
TAMU will be very good, but unfortunately 3rd in a tough south. KSU is starting the fade back into oblivion. MU will let Brad Smith be a college QB instead of a pro prospect and squeak out the north.
Conference if not split north/south
OU
Texas
TAMU
TTech
MU
Colo
Corn
OSU
ISU
KU
KSU
Baylor
One Division
Texas
Oklahoma
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Oklahoma St.
Missouri
Nebraska
Kansas St.
Iowa St.
Colorado
Kansas
Baylor
Champ- Texas ( being optimistic )
POY- Vince Young ( if Texas wins, Vince Young will be the POY )
Upset- Texas over OU ( it will be the upset of the century if this happens
also Mack Brown and Greg Davis will have to become deathly ill on that
day to avoid making bad gametime decisions, and Peterson may have
to be hurt )
Texas
Oklahoma
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Oklahoma St.
Missouri
Nebraska
Kansas St.

I'm going to be unbiased here and pick from what I've seen/heard/read or believe will be the case...
North
Colorado
Missouri
Nebraska
Kansas
Iowa St
Kansas St
South
Texas [basing this on Vince Young's performance against Michigan in their bowl game, holy fricken crap! btw, i hate you Texas, HATE YOU!]
Oklahoma
Texas Tech
Texas A&M
Oklahoma St
Baylor
Big 12 Champinonship Game Winner - Texas
Conference Player of the year - Adrian Peterson, Vince Young [both will have insane seasons]. Vince gets it cause they win the title, but Peterson has more impressive numbers and leads and wins the Heisman.
Conference Upset of the year - Texas Tech beating Oklahoma and keeping them from the Big 12 South Title.

The north is a the north...a total crapshoot. Will Nebraska pick up the WCO? Will Iowa State pick up where they left off. Can Colorado survive a tough schedule? Is Gary Pinkle alive? This is my best guess.
The south is just murderous. There are four teams that are good enough to be top 15 teams in this division. I really like Texas, mostly because Oklahoma lost so much from their team that it's going to take a while to gel. You could say that this OU team mirrors the championship team from a few years ago, but I don't think they have a QB on the roster like Huepple (sp?). I think Bomar will get the gig but it's going to take some time. Texas is going to have good defense, and I think that Young will continue to progress as a passer. Texas Tech is going to be really tough this year and I think they'll pull off a shocker or two. A&M is going to be really good too. Courtney Lewis is healthy, the recievers are good and McNeal is a stud. Tough division.
