To the younger guys in here ...
... I highly suggest turning 40.
40-Stock was a rousing success here Saturday. Insanely fun times with nearly 80 family and friends, including kids of all ages. We killed a half-keg of Saranac Adirondack Amber in about five hours and ate four huge trays of barbecued ribs and chicken in addition to a ton of other food.
Besides a killer party, I was gifted with 40 cigars, a bottle of Captain Morgan Select Rum, a bottle of Johnny Walker Red and at least 80 beers from a variety of microbreweries around the U.S. and world. My supply of vices is well-stocked for the summer.
Plus, as my cousin whose wife is seven months pregnant said, "Damn, there are a lot of MILFs here!"
Life does indeed begin at 40!
Take care,
PK

True, true, Javi. But what was unique and special about this party was that the older the people were, the harder they partied. My dad is just shy of 77 and knocked back at least six Saranacs. My aunt is pushing 80, and she sure enjoyed her wine at the party, too! My two older brothers and older sister and my crazy Uncle Dave all were socking them away pretty good, too. Hell, almost everyone was unless they were driving.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Congrats PK!!
But at my 26, I can participate in those kind of parties every weekend.
That's what happens on one of the first sunny, hot Saturdays of the year after a long winter -- we let it rip!
The loudest people at the party -- other than me -- almost all were older than 30 or 40! I think once you're a member of the cocktail generation -- people who were young and middle-age adults in the 1950s and 60s, you never give that up. My parents' friends and older relatives can still rip it up pretty good. Plus they're all spry and healthy, so I guess there must be some benefit.
It was just a hell of a fun, cool day I'll remember for a long time.
Take care,
PK

With a half-kegger in the backyard with 100 people (frau gave me official count today), food, liquor, wine, cigars, loud music, MILFs and general debauchery, us old f*cks lead by example ...dbdynsty25 wrote:Man there are some old f*cks on this board. LOL...

A box of 20 La Gloria Cubana Coronas from my brother. I LOVE LGCs of any size. LGCs, Hoyo de Monterrey Excaliburs and Henry Clays probably are my favorite non-Cuban smokes.
Also got a box of 20 of some maduro I've never heard of from a buddy. Construction was quality, wrapper tobacco was beautiful. Torched one this afternoon while watching the kids, and it was delicious. I'm not a big maduro fan, but this was a fine smoke. It didn't bite my lungs for my ride later in the day, either.
I know, I make zero sense: I drink and smoke cigars and then I ride my bike for an hour or so up and down hills.
Take care,
PK

No, no -- separate pleasures. But now you've got me thinking ...AtXj wrote:, do you puff LGC's while you ride and keep your water bottle filled with Captain Morgan?pk500 wrote:I know, I make zero sense: I drink and smoke cigars and then I ride my bike for an hour or so up and down hills.
