I want my Forza!!!

Post by Fshguy »

So I guess nobody has the retail NTSC version of Forza yet? I was hoping that it would come in today, but I get the feeling somebody would have said something now.

I'm afraid to call EB too much or they might start lying to me just to spite me for bugging them...

I'm actually taking Thursday off for this game, I need it soon!

I called my local EB, where I pre-ordered, an hour ago, and the clerk said Forza wouldn't be available until tomorrow morning.

"Even if I pre-ordered?" I begged and slobbered.

"Yep. Tomorrow morning," was the reply.

Bummer. Oh, well, I'm stoked for a good night of Champions League football and WRC action tonight. And then it's wall-to-wall Forza until I leave for Indy. :)

Take care,

As soon as I this, I thought of DB opening the forum, seeing the thread, then banging his head on the desk and mutting some explitaves.

I'll probably run in a Toys R Us and/or Circuit City on the way home, just to check.

Anybody know what Best Buy's track record is when it comes to getting new video game releases on the shelves? I'm guessing they're not as fast as EB, Game Crazy or Gamestop.

I have a gift card left over from Christmas that I've been saving for Forza, but I'm guessing I'll have to wait at least a few days.

A: Call local Best Buy as they are the best source for this information

B: Write Information down

C: Start a new thread with information on when Best Buy will be getting Forza at your local store...

Kidding aside Best Buy is pretty good about getting big games at the same time as EB & Gamestop. The main factor is how early the Publisher of the game ships them out before release date. Which is why you need to call Best Buy and have them look up the ETA. Then call them every day to check on it.

It's looking like a no-go for me getting this game today. Yesterday Toys R Us told me they'd have it today and now they say tomorrow. Everyone else is saying tomorrow as well.

I am a little worried that this game will have too many "tuning" and "setup" options for me. The reviews sound great, but I am one who just likes to race instead of figuring out how many decal layers I want.

Then don't buy it. Stick with Simpsons Road Rage...simple racing at it's finest.

Jack, we'll keep our online races to "stock" cars probably. We did so for Toca and I think we all liked it.

I also think that we'll have enough guys getting this one that we can let the intense drivers have their own group, while others run in another.

I'll probably start up a 'Sunday Drivers' night again, too. :)

After exiting my Jeep Liberty when I arrived home from work today, I made the long walk to my front door. When I know a game I have preordered COULD be there its a long walk. Call me a geek that needs a life but I love the rush of waiting to see that package on my doorstep :) Unfortunately, there was no package today...gotta wait until tomorrow. Oh well, I have a baseball game Wed. night - but its home so I should be able to get in before 8 pm to play it. Bring it on!

I have this feeling that Forza will be a letdown.

It has to be...any game with THIS much hype cannot possibly live up to the expectations. We shall see...

I played the demo today for about 10 minutes and left feeling somewhat underwhelmed.

I'm a bit worried about that too. I think it will be a great game, but alot of us are expecting that same feeling we got when we first put in Gran Tourismo 1 for PS1. I don't think we'll get that rush again since we've played so many great racing games since then.

Forza sure has a lot of stuff off the racetrack that will be fun, like tuning etc., but it's on-the-track that really matters. We were all damn spoiled with Toca 2, which is a console racing masterpiece on the racetrack.

Well I raced on Laguna and compared to Laguna on Toca2 it sure as hell didn't seem like the end all be all and it sure as hell didn't look as good. However that was just the demo so i'll let you cats decide how you like the final version. I did however pickup Mercenaries last night....all I can say is DAMN!

Tjung... the game has apparently improved alot over the demo, especially in the graphics department.

Yeah the demo is like 8 month old code (if not older). That same demo was on OXM like 4 months ago.

I'm just worried that I'm jonesing for the game so badly, and so many other people are too, that it might fall flat on its face. I hope not, but TOCA 2's wonderful handling model will be tough to overcome.
