but why are conservatives up in arms over this picture?/

I'm not political at all and couldn't care less about either candidate. But, what the hell was the little girl doing at an Edwards rally with a Bush sign?

Umm...who cares? It's like going to a football game where you're rooting for the other team. Do you NOT dress in YOUR teams colors (except when you go to Oakland...you better wear Raiders gear there or you might not leave alive)?

It must have changed. All I see are:

- suicide bomber
- Ford report
- Chechen rebel
- MJ's attorney?
- Tiger Woods
- Hurricane
- Apricot silk wear
- dental floss
- Peanuts comic

Is it in the Politics section? I see no picture there. Maybe it is filtered?

Because our political debate had devolved to the level where people will use any and everything to gain any sort of spin out of a story. Democrats are no better. This is a non-story paraded as something important when there are real things of importantance to be discussed. It's like a picture of a cute puppy that would say "Vote for Kerry". They both are meaningless.

Pretty sad when liberals start bullying kids. I bet it was Michael Moore, Sean Penn, or Al Franken who tore it up.

The good news is that Kerry's flipflopping, lying, and just generally being a di*khead has finally started to take its toll. Bush is now a commanding 13 points ahead in the latest gallup poll. This election is going to be a blowout. After 2000, I never thought the democrats could find a worse candidate than Gore, but they managed to do that in spades.

You should check the the other political thread for my full comments but how convenient you leave out the fact that the other 3 major polls this week show the race a dead heat, and a few show Kerry in the lead. The Gallup is the wacky one in my view, Bush may have a slight lead but the prevailing trend is that his bounce and lead are all but gone.

No way is anyone winning this race by 13 pts. There are too many voters polarized who aren't going to change their minds, and not enough waverers. Show me one credited pollster who thinks there is a chance of a landslide.

If Kerry does not outperform Gore in the debates greatly, I'll eat my shoe.

Kerry may not be a legendary candidate, but you don't need one to beat such a vunerable incumbent.

Thanks for elevating the debate. Wait, perhaps you have specific evidence Kerry has been a "di*khead?" I sure don't think he said anything like Cheney's "If you vote the wrong way, we'll get attacked again."

Not certain about this yet, but there's major suspicion that this was staged and that the guy in the union shirt that tore up the sign was the child's brother. See this post:

Gallop poll is looking suspect, predicting 40% of likely voters will be Republicans and 33% will be Democrats, even though in the last election the spread was 39% Republican, 35% Democrat.

Most of the other polls have this as too close to call, which is likely where it's at.

If this was staged, then we need to find some jobs for people in WV.

Damn, I really thought Man Tries to Sue Wife for 5-Day Sex Denial was a far more interesting topic to discuss.
