and never going to happen, but why couldn´t EA and Sega get together and mesh their college basketball games together? I would be willing to pay the combined 100 dollars every year if they would put the depth (all the teams, ESPN presentation, etc) of NCAA 2K3 and the gameplay (freestyle, smoother player graphics, etc.) of March Madness together in one game. I don´t know if all that could fit on one compact disc, but I plead for a meeting of the minds on this one. I really find myself looking at the shortcomings of one of the games and seeing that as a strength of the competitor, and vice versa...
You´re right -- never going to happen. But hopefully market forces will cause each company to look at their rivals´ product, find the good features, and incorporate them into their product.

EA tried that this year with FIFA 2003, trying to implement more realism based on the brilliance of Konami´s Winning Eleven 6.

No it isn´t too much to ask. The problem is that game companies seem to use this as their M.O.

It´s as if they put out a product in an unfinished state. They´ll admit to it´s problems and then promise to fix those glaring problems you found ...in "next years edition".

And the cycle continues.

That´s why IMO we will never see the perfect Madden, FIFA or insert your sports game here. I hate to be cynical but I´ve been buying games along time and I´ve gotten fed up with the whole thing.

If I´m way off then ask yourself. Name a game and I´m sure you can that played great but somehow the following year they screwed up the gameplay but saw new features added.

I´ve always asked how can they do that? It played great and somehow it doesn´t now. But they promise to fix it. There´s the hook.
I don´t know, man, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars 2002 was damn near perfect on the PS2. Sadly, no sequel is planned of which I know.
