Just finished it and it was pretty good.

But I got to say that first Joe Montana game on Genesis was great. I remember liking it more than Madden at the time.

Then the 2nd year of the Joe Montana game, that game sucked so bad. I remember asking myself and discussing with my friends back in the day why did they change everything in the 2nd Joe Montana game. It's like they made a completely different game than the first one.

Now decades later we find out that EA made both games. They took out features on the Joe Montana game so it wasn't better than the first Madden game on Genesis but even w/ the features taken out, the core gameplay on that first Joe Montana game was great.

The revelation about making Joe Montana blew my mind---I played that before I tried Madden. Loved those original Maddens where you would get highlights from other games.

Good morning everybody.

I haven't watched yet, but wasn't the Joe Montana group the Visual Concept guys who eventually became the 2k guys on Dreamcast?

Visual Concepts made the early Madden games and then the contract was given over to Tiburon after the debacle of not releasing Madden 96.

Visual Concepts then worked on all the 2K sports games - NFL, NBA, NHL. They were a great videogame studio and proved it with top notch quality games. Their madden and 2k games are still better than anything Tiburon has done.
