i don't really follow real life college football lately so was surprised to see so many west coast teams now in the big 10. and the pac 12 has only 2 teams left? what a joke.

yes it is. If CF25 didn't permit custom conferences, I probably wouldn't play Dynasty, or would keep with NCAA 13 and/or Revamped. NCAA is a joke. No adherence to physical geography or any semblance of tradition. Love these tho..

The game looks good… not terrible, not great. It plays well and is fun, but my God the commentary is dry, stale, toast. There is no emotion what-so-ever. Talk about monotone. They put me to sleep.
When I posted this I had only played like 2 "Play Now" exhibition games. Once I started my dynasty and realized there were multiple crews, and different algorithms for exhibition, rivalry, etc games I take back my one real critique of the game. With EA's PGA Tour, and now CF25, I have hope they're turning it aournd.

the CFB team released some notes today on bug fixes (https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discu ... p/13889950)

. Seems like they're on top of this unlike the madden team who release bug in October when the game is released in August.

That's also good to know that commentary gets better in Dynasty.

I am going to start my first offline Dynasty with Iowa. I have done some play now games with them and they are really fun to use. I love running the ball and their RB is top notch.

If you guys remember NCAA 2004, the IOWA RB in that game was a videogame legend. We referred to him as Iowa #2. Because that was his jersey number. I don't know the guy's real name but I think he didnt pan out in the NFL.

In CFB25, the Iowa RB is #4. His real name is Leshon Williams. He is awesome in this game. maybe even better than Iowa #2 from NCAA2004.

Anyway I was talking to someone about this and they said that Leshon Williams '#4' is NCAA 2004s #2 SON!!! Can someone verify? That would be unreal if true. Have we ever had a father/son duo in a videogame that were both sports gaming legends?

Like I said I love running the ball in this game and expect to win the Heisman with Iowa #4.

my final analysis on CFB25 PS5 vs XBOX SERIES X versions :
-

Have had this game for both systems for almost a week now. Played about 60 percent on XBX and 40 percent on PS5.

Game is pretty much the same but these are the only two differences I've found :

Graphics - Winner: Xbox Series X . The PS5 has like a slightly darker filter which makes the game look a little darker than XBX. XBX lighting is perfect. The game looks absolutely beautiful on Xbox Series X. I don't even skip past the replays because it's so beautiful to look at. But if you don't have the other console to compare, it'll still look great on PS5.

Control - Winner : PS5. The controls with the PS5 controller are a little more responsive vs Xbox Series X controller. The sticks feel a bit looser on the PS5 controller which helps with running and making jukes/cuts/spins. Also for passing, I think the softer PS5 buttons make it again a little more responsive than the Xbox Harder Press buttons. Feels like on PS5 you'll have the ball out of your qb's hand a split second before Xbox.

You can't go wrong with either system.

NCAA 2004 is still my favorite all-time game in the franchise. I don't know off the top of my head who "Iowa #2" is, but I'll look it up. I still have the game with named rosters that I play on my PS3. Can't even begin to count how many games of this I played online back in the day. 20+ years ago... CRAZY

oh yes, NCAA 2004 was one my favorites along with NCAA 2006.

NCAA 2004 was the first sports game where I was part of an online league. I think we ran it over at Sportreviewers then and a lot of ppl on this forum participated. fun times!

This game grows on me every time I play it. I've enjoyed some EPIC offline games with enough realism and believability for me.

But ... I'm not paying $70 for it. I pay full price for nothing. So, I'm waiting for a sale in the upcoming weeks.

I reckon that's for physical discs only, correct? I went all digital about five years ago and am not turning back. Thanks for the tip, though!

I'm playing my dynasty as Mizzou since my daughter goes there. i start the season 7-0, they have a real cup cake of a schedule, the only decent opponent was Auburn but that game got out of hand with my Tiger scoring 3 defensive TD's in the first quarter.

So my next game is #2 Mizzou vs #4 Alabama on the road. I get the ball first, move down the field but the drive stalls and I have a 45 yard FG attempt. I haven't had to kick many field goals being 7-0 and definitely not in a situation like this. The meter is moving so fast but I nail it but let the power go to early and it falls short. The Tide then march down the field and go up 7-0 and I'm thinking here we go. Neither team can finish a drive for almost the rest of the first half but with 3 minutes and change left I punch one in and we are 7-7.

The 3rd quarter is much like the 2nd, drive move into opponents territory to be stuffed by great defense. This is the first game where I've seen so many hits dislodge completions. Alabama manages a FG in the 3rd and it 10-7.

The 4th quarter is almost a repeat of the last 2, the Tide manage to get inside my 5 but I shut them down and it's 13-7. I get the ball with 4:52 left and figure this is my last chance. I finally get a rhythm going and put a drive together and end up scoring a TD with Brady Cook scampering in to go up 14-13 but I left 1:23 on the clock.

I put the Tide in three 4th down situations to give up the first every time. With 10 seconds left they kick a 47 yard field goal to my dismay. I drop in the ranking to #9 somehow.

This game has a lot of warts, recruiting is a mystery to me, defenders purposely blow assignments at times and QB accuracy is absurd (Cook is 83.7% on the year) but it is still a ton of fun and I haven't even touched a slider yet. The fact I've seen 4 DPI calls in 7 games which is 6 more than I've seen in the last 15 years of Madden is refreshing.

I haven't touched the game tbh, it needs a dynasty patch for me to really delve into it. Love it though Dan, MIZ!

Agree, I'm happy with the game play. Just the right amount of penalties and challenge for me on All-American. Perhaps some of the QB completion rates are too high, but it's not something that can't be fixed. But I too won't get a dynasty going until they fix the simulated scores and rankings.

checked out UT and it's quite robust now.

If you like historical challenges they got a lot of those now. Ray Lewis, Marshall Faulk, etc.... Lot of NFL guys during their college days. All Offline too!

I would do it but I am soooooo enjoying Dynasty right now!

Nice patch, but the simmed games are still wonky and I can't get into a dynasty where teams like Temple are beating Oklahoma and Georgia is getting smoked at home by Clemson, that's just to name a few.

I just played my first Playoff game with Mizzou against Cal and it was played somewhere that had snow as the game was a snow game. I'll confess to not knowing how the playoff works in CFB but it wasn't a home game for me and last I checked it doesn't snow in Cali.

Yeah, that definitely does not seem correct for the 2024-2025 playoffs no matter how you look at it. :)

Using Matt10's Heisman sliders and I finally have some defense. The biggest issue for me in both CFB and Madden is the stupid end of game AI that likes to call press coverage against verts and it's just move my QB back and launch an easy bomb TD to win the game.

Of course I can stop calling it, but what else am I going to call when trying to win the game when down by 4 or more.

If NCAA 14 was backwards compatible, I'd still be playing that.

I'm having a hell of a time playing defense...I can only win shootouts in Dynasty mode...it's annoying. Zero defensive acumen on my part, I'm sure, but still it's annoying I can't even be mediocre.
