Welcome home, Vinny-B!

It's sure nice to have the return of NCAA Football. Now that KU football is somewhat relevant again, I'm looking forward to diving back in after a 11 year hiatus.
do you have the game sportdan? if so, how does the PS5 haptic feedback work? is it like madden or they improved it for CFB?
Yep, disappointed with the lack of haptic feedback on the PS5 controller. Wish they could take advantage of it like 2K does with their basketball game.
yes i agree. they missed a big opportunity here. with the college atmosphere, even something like school chants coming out of the PS5 controller mic would have been great. Would have added a whole new level of immersion.

who??????
I think they are unbelievable. Truly Next Gen. especially on Xbox Series X!

--

Some more impressions -

I said the XBox graphics were slightly better than the PS5. I think the control/response time on PS5 for passing is slightly better than Xbox. I think it all has to do w/ the PS5 buttons being soft and the XB buttons being harder to press.

-Ultimate Team (CUT)

Tried it out and it's pretty bare bones right now. If you log in today, you get some Info Card for some future Joey Bosa OSU card. It'll get you 1000 coins.

They have daily free packs worth 100. You get a player every day if you spend. So get your 1000 and get your daily card.

Also there is some other pack like an intro/orientation pack and a superstar pack I think.

ORIENTATION gives you like 10 players to start your CUT with. The other pack lets you pick 1 higher rated player out of like 12 players. I picked the HB from Michigan. Dont know his name.

You can do freshman seasons , i guess it's like madden seasons. Offline mode.

Other than that I was just checking it out. seems after official release they're going to add it with some old greats like Bosworth , Bosa, etc..

-------

I am just obsessed with this game right now! I am thinking about it 24/7. I can't sleep because I think about what I'll do in dynasty etc.. It's been really like 20 years since I've had such an obsession with a game. Probably NCAA 2004 or NFL2K5.

I even setup my tablet when I go out of town on business with PS5 Remote play and XB Remote play. I ran PS5 last night at around 3am because I couldn't sleep and it ran the game fine. This game is something else!

Me. This game doesn't look as good as The Show or the NBA 2K series. It lacks the sharpness and crispness of those games' graphics. Plus there's occasional slowdown on my Series X.

This game isn't ugly. But it's also not the belle of the ball.

The game looks good… not terrible, not great. It plays well and is fun, but my God the commentary is dry, stale, toast. There is no emotion what-so-ever. Talk about monotone. They put me to sleep.

I'm not sure if the graphics will get remedied or not. I tend to think they won't, but would be very happy if they did.
I'm more annoyed at how slow the menus are in Ultimate Team specifically. Every thing you do takes FOREVER...going into depth charts, going into challenges, slog, slow stuttery mess. But I realize that I may be in the minority playing UT but still...I'm sure the recruiting and stuff in dynasty is going to be the same way I just haven't tried it yet.

The Show? The Show hasn't upgraded graphics since ps3. I think it looks better than NBA2K. I'm not sure about your slowdown. I'm not having any issues on Xbox Series X.

at least it's quicker than madden 24 where a button press takes like 3 seconds to register. I'm ok w/ slowness on UT because I will hardly ever use that mode.

PSA - Right now I will defend this game to the death!

I only got to play 2 games this morning and I liked what I saw.

First game I was LSU vs Memphis and I destroyed them 66-7. I had the passing sent on something & accuracy and the passing was so easy, as was the running game. This is Varsity level and with the talent level so much better for LSU it was kind of what I expected. Loved the new kicking system, hope that makes it to Madden.

Second game I switched to the revamped passing, the one they have been showing in the videos and things were a lot better. I also played 2 mid-tier schools whose rating were in the high 70's and low 80's and the game was much tighter, I lost by 3. Passing was more nuanced and running was a bit harder.

That is about all I've done. I was shocked there is no tutorial on how to use the new passing in game, the mini games don't really cover it. I saw a few penalties which was nice. While the presentation and atmosphere were really good my expectations where a bit higher. I mean I know jag off bands like Metalica and The Killers didn't give them rights but I was hoping to see some spectacular intros.

It's clear the ratings matter, so playing with a power house like LSU I threw for over 400 yards and rushed for 200. I didn't see any subs at all in my games.

Anyway certainly enjoyable but I haven't dug enough into it to find the warts if any.

Catching up on all these posts. Really feeling your passion for this game (esp Lancer, Tim, Dan). The last time I was this jacked for a sports game, it was MLB The Show 09. Far as CF25, knew I would be away traveling and jus took advantage of that $30 off via QVC deal. I believe my wife said it just shipped. Either way, it hasn't prevented me from viewing countless YT vids (mainly CPU vs CPU via broadcast camera). While the footage has been impressing the helll out of me (primarily the presentation aspects) OS posters have had me spooked, by continually citing the games "pedestrian" graphics. I recall the initial RTG video footage (unveiled the previous wknd by a mega YT'er, while blasting rap music over his gameplay) and based on that footage, I believed the graphics to be a 10/10! (As did everyone else on OS) Now, it's a different story. As most now seem to be lamenting the lack of "High Res" visuals (as evidenced by the relatively small game disc data) and petitioning EA for a fix. In short, I don't know if these YT CC superstars who received that 'work in progress' pre-July 16 version, actually had a higher resolution build? Or, has every build had the same 4K graphics all along? I'll be satisfied regardless. Also, will definitely check out that "zoomed" camera option you recommended, Lancer.

other aspects that hit this out the park for me are the commentary teams (I couldn't ask for more), and the aesthetically perfect transition screens, overlays etc. Stadium atmosphere pretty much speaks for itself. Look forward to accepting the Coastal Carolina HC position, and beginning my Dynasty. Plan to start via All-American, likely resulting in 70-6 sim type of scores when playing Miami, FSU, Penn St, Syracuse, WVA, etc, in my geographically correct realigned ACC Conference, with my "modest" skill set.

man, that's awesome. I feel your joy, and the pride which the commissioner and conference committee, put into that. Also, being It's a Chicago based league, am certain you had to transcend a lot of red tape and moving pieces, to make that happen : )

I take it you're still loving the game? And the graphics remain appealing? Which team will be your primary Dynasty team? LoL, I actually finished outlining my completely realigned custom conferences, last week. And look forward to fully implementing them via this game. I like how CF25 provides you the freedom to name/organize/subhead the Conferences, as you demonstrated. Will post my FBS Conferences, in a few min.

ya vinny , still loving this game. Almost a week and and having so much fun.

Now is it perfect? No. Lot of bugs being reported but the game has only been out officially for 1 day. Take my advice and don't go on reddit. All the incels are out complaining about how they were duped by EA and how everything is broken. I don't mind legit concerns, but the toxic reddit community is just that, toxic. Basically they dreamed of a game that we will never get and pissed that they can't use their spreadsheets from NCAA 14 on CFB25.

If you're like a normal guy with a job and family and only have limited time to play maybe on weeknights and on weekends, you'll love the game. The on the field game itself is very challenging and makes you learn how to play. It's not madden where you can just throw bombs and do non-football things to exploit the cpu. Here, if you try that garbage, you'll get picked or you won't convert. I think a lot of gameplay criticism on reddit is coming from that fact a lot of ppl are trying to play this game like madden and when that s*** dont work, they start to b*tch and cry that it's so hard.

I'm still on Varsity and struggle against good and really good teams. Lower rated teams I do a good job. But that's the best thing about this game. Ratings matter. First time ever I think in a EA Sports game ratings do really matter.

I'm still having fun. In my offline dynasty, I really don't do all the recruiting stuff. I leave that to the CPU. I just like to play games one after another. Let the CPU GM take care of recruiting and let me coach and play the games. I'm having a blast!

you mentioned Reddit, unfortunately OS is pretty much the same. It's probably about a 50/50 split. I get the game has detractors, as the recruiting and sim logic reportings are too numerous, to not have merit. However, when you have "gamers" who make it their life mission to dismiss the stadium atmosphere and commentary as "trash", that's when I check out. There's no conversation to be had at that point. Two different commentary teams, featuring Reece Davis, Chris Fowler, Herbstriet, and co! While Reece's crew is better, how many sports vidgames even afford two options? Also, in many of these stadiums, the stadium atmosphere itself IS electric. Should the atmosphere while playing at Central Michigan be electric? The fallacy of chasing video game perfection - I don't have time for it either. Sidenote:
Noticed 'SoftdrinkTV' (Madden's unofficial #1 detractor) rated CF25 very high. A solid indicator. As importantly, thanks for your takes, brother. And i won't have the "It's not Madden" muscle memory, to negotiate, as I haven't played that franchise since Madden 99 (PS1). Take care and game on!

I think they will. I get a feeling the CFB team actually gives a s*** about this game unlike the Madden team or NHL team over at EA.

For me, like I posted before, I just let the CPU do all the recruiting stuff. I just play the games. So it's not affecting me much so far.
