As a typical Madden release, it needs patched. Tons of INT's, too many top player FA's, etc, etc... maybe by the end of the cycle they will get it to a playable point. I'm back to M21.

I really like the tons of INTS. It forces you to learn the new passing system.

I really like Dline play. I see MUT ppl complaining it's too over powered to get to the QB but I think it's fair.

I hope they don't 'fix' things and break the overall gameplay for the MUT crowd.

Is the 10-hour trial of Madden 23 limited to only a certain date range? I downloaded the full trial last night, refused to give my email or personal information to EA or its partners (as usual) and then was told my trial period had expired.

EA can go f*ck itself if it's denying the trial to people who don't agree to get bombed with spam from EA and its "partners."

I played less than an hour of the trial last week. Since then, I can no longer access the trial. I believe you are correct that they limited the trial up until the date of release. Absolutely ridiculous!

Oh, well. I never buy Madden without a trial or demo (and usually wait until it's free on EA Play, anyways), so no purchase for me any time soon!

No worries. The Show is a more realistic team sports game than Madden, at least before Madden 23 was released, so I'm very content to keep playing that.

Trial should still work. Did you not hit quit after turning the game off? If not then the timer runs and you’d lose your 10 hrs overnight.

My trial is still active…5 hours left. As for the email, just create an email that’s primarily used as a spam account, problem solved.

I saw a thread that said play on Pro and you'll see more realistic results. I as Justin Fields went 34-35 with 5 TD's, 1 INT I forced and over 500 yards through the air. This game needs a patch to get the sliders working in the worst way.

you can change it back to classic in the options menu

If they change things up and break what I think are advances I'm going to sell it.

BTW - tried to start MUT and did they purposely make the worse game mode menu? I don't even know where to start it's so confusing.

I sent QB Accuracy to zero (0) and INT to zero (0) for both CPU and Human sliders last night.

67 and 77 completion percentage, 3 picks (Me) and 4 picks (CPU).

An EA rep said INT's are way higher than real life because Madden users complain about defenders dropping INT's.

Yeah DB's catch better than WR's in Madden 23. :P

I like a lot about the game, don't get me wrong.. but even the CPU QB's throw a ton of INT's.

I started a serious CFM with the Bears tonight and had a fantastic game vs the 49ers. We lost, 28-16 but it was a great game.

After playing it more, I'm enjoying the challenge. (AM defaults with 50 inj and 99 DPI)

Started a Franchise as the Bears. All Pro.

First game vs the 49ers.

Trey Lance was in all the cut scenes but Grappalo played. LOL.

Niners were able t move the ball on my 1st quarter but after that they were inept to do anything. They only scored 3 points in the game and that was because I fumbled on offense in my territory.

I ran the ball at them at will. Not huge gains, maybe 15 yard big run was the only big play. But small 5-6 yard gains and short passes moved the chains.

Ended up winning 13-3 but it felt like old madden where the cpu is just crap on offense.

It played completely different than the PLAY NOW games where there seemed to be more of a challenge passing and defending. Franchise played like last year's and previous years maddens. Sort of made me want to sell the game now.

Next game vs the Pack so let's see how that goes.

2nd game vs pack ends in 14-14 tie

The explosive Aaron Rogders offense was inept. They scored one td when I threw an int deep in my territory and other one at end of regulation they couldn’t be stopped.

No way Packers should manage 14 pts off my D. They should have scored 31 pts.

The franchise mode sucks so far. Not sure if they added a patch over the weekend but it’s no longer fun.

This game, for supposedly being the most polished version of madden in years, feels like a buggy, scripted mess.

I’ve only been playing online vs randoms, but I see a lot of crazy s*** for sure.

I tend to not start a franchise up until after the week 1 rosters are released and the first gameplay patch so haven’t dabbled against the ai yet.

I think the biggest issue in franchise is caused by the points you earn to spend on making your coaches better. As I add points, the game gets easier. I'm going to start a new franchise and not use those at all or just put them into non on-field related progression.

That's why I put it on slower or slowest, that way it takes a few seasons before you can build your coaches up.

I started a new franchise w/ the chargers as they were a fun team to use during my play now games.

They are much better to use in franchise than the bears. I beat the Raiders in game 1 21-3 and lost to the Chiefs in game 2 14-11.

I did one thing others suggested that improved the game a bit :

Took it off All-Pro and set it at Pro mode. Game seems to play a little better. Maybe more open.

I switched from Simulation to Competitive mode. Seems like it reads your inputs better.

I dont know if this is enough to save the game for me. I hate how before every menu you access you get a reminder to play MUT.

GAMEPLAY UPDATES

Tuning to pass-block ‘handoff’ logic to allow pass blockers to handoff rushers to adjacent pass blockers during a defensive shed move attempt when targeting a separate rusher
Fixed an issue allowing a specific shed-move to be too powerful and too frequent by user-controlled pass rushers
Fixed a run-block targeting issue where the right tackle wouldn’t block the defensive end on Gun Spread Y-Slot Wk HB Base vs. specific defensive alignments
Fixed a run-block targeting issue leaving the DE unblocked on Singleback Bunch Quick Pitch vs. specific defensive alignments
Tuning to run-blocker pursuit to improve the blocking path against user-controlled defenders to better pick up user-LB’s stacking behind DL’s and shooting gaps
Tuning to pass-block movement to make pass blockers commit sooner to rushers moving near the line of scrimmage at the snap
DEV Note: This tuning should reduce lineman from taking themselves out of position to block blitzers and provide better prediction for the movement direction of the rushers.
Tuning to improve pass-block prediction to better anticipate the direction of the rusher when coming out of their stance and/or moving very slowly
Fixed an issue allowing the TE to be assigned incorrect hot-routes after using specific pre-snap motions in Bunch formations
Tuning to reduce match-distance on ‘Blow-Up Blocker’ interactions for user-controlled defenders
Tuning to Ball Carrier skill-moves to reduce drastic changes in speed
Tuning to reduce fumble chance for WR’s playing in the HB position
DEV Note: In playbook packages where a WR is intentionally placed at the HB position, such as those found in the 49ers and Rams playbooks, the risk of fumbling was too high. Playing out of position will still carry a higher fumble chance than not, but it will no longer be as significant of a risk based on these real-life playbook packages utilizing players like 49ers WR Deebo Samuel.
Fixed a rare issue causing a player to warp off the ground after a sideline catch
Tuning to Cover 4 Quarter CB’s to better cover outside streak routes in Trips formations
Fixed an issue causing receivers to sometimes step out of the back of the end zone while running their routes, leading to illegal touching penalties
Tuning to give elite receivers more separation vs. defensive backs in man-press
Tuning to better conserve momentum of WRs during mid-air collisions with defensive backs
Fixed an issue allowing HB wheel routes to beat Cover 1/Man Coverage too frequently
Tuning to reduce the catch-chance on tipped passes
Tuning to make the AI QB’s target user-controlled CB’s & LB’s more often in Face of the Franchise player-locked gameplay

Updated nickel alignment position in Nickel and Dime Cover 2 Man plays vs. bunch formations
Updated the Detroit Lions NFL Live Playbook to be a 4-3 Defense book, and added three 4-3 formations to the Lions default defense book.
FRANCHISE UPDATES

Fixed an issue where user-to-user trades in online leagues were not working
Fixed an issue where CPU teams were not correctly using the franchise tag
DEV Note: While significantly improved, there will be rare instances where players right below what is perceived as “Elite” will be tagged.
Tuned QB Simulation Stats to reduce the number of plays run in games to lower overall player and team stats league wide
Tuned QB Regression
DEV Note: We noticed that as seasons progressed, there would be far too many highly rated QB’s across the league when compared to the base rosters. To combat this we slightly increased QB regression as they get older. This paired with the QB Sim Stats tuning should result in a distribution similar to base rosters as you get deeper into Franchise.
Tuned Contract Acceptance Factors/Rates
DEV Note: This tune was to address some edge case exploits; this should not have a major impact on Re-Sign or Free Agency in general.
Fixed an issue where the Free Agency offer bars were displaying out of order
Fixed an issue where sections of the Free Agency offer bars would sometimes appear white
Fixed an issue where the Free Agency offer bars would sometimes not display after offering a contract
Fixed an issue where the front-end difficulty wasn’t carrying over into Franchise
Fixed an issue where news stories were incorrectly referencing injuries suffered during practice as season-ending injuries
Fixed an issue where injured players were sometimes being included in trade packages
Fixed an issue where completed goals were appearing as incomplete
Fixed an issue where the reorder pop-up would stay on screen after reordering prospects on your favorites list
Fixed a crash when attempting to withdraw an offer during Re-Sign
Fixed an issue where the background would turn gray when navigating menus, rather than the team color

Fixed an issue causing duplicate versions of a coach to appear in a practice drill via Side Activities.

MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM UPDATES

Rewards earned from completed Objectives in a Field Pass will now continue to appear in the UI rather than disappearing.
Addressed issue where the wrong art would visually display in the Field Pass rewards track.
Background art for Ultimate Challenges should now be displayed.
Numerous fixes when trying to Compare items.
Using “Reset all Filters” will now clear out “Search by Name”
Addressed issue where the focus state inside the Field Pass would show incorrectly when tabbing through categories.
