Riders Republic
Holy sh*t: Where did this dream of a game come from? Wingsuit, mountain biking, skiing all in a massive open world with up to 50 people playing simultaneously online.

Re: Riders Republic
Made by the same group. Mountain biking adds a lot for me since I'm an avid rider. Plus the real-life locations of Yosemite, Zion, Bryce Canyon, etc., will be cool.

Looks pretty cool. On the Series X it should be legit.

Re: Riders Republic
This game is more obnoxious than even Dirt 5...sheesh, I must be getting old.
Controls are pretty good, graphics (outside of the cut scenes) are really good. I can see the potential for sure, but I just don't know if I can get past the "whoa bro" obnoxiousness. /oldguycomplaining

Re: Riders Republic
Pretty interesting so far. The bike and ski controls feel really good. Kinda had me longing for a true skiing game.

Re: Riders Republic
Riding a mountain bike from first-person view is pretty intense. Wingsuit and skiing so far? Meh.
Fun concept, but Teal is right: The storyline of games like this and the Horizon series are getting SO played out. Anonymous hotshot shows up with tons of talent at metrosexual extreme sports festival located in some beautiful location. CHECK. Hot tomboy girl greets him and tells him he has to meet some aging sherpa or legend to gain cred. CHECK. Aging sherpa agrees to help new hotshot after some reluctance. CHECK. Hotshot then kicks everyone's ass. CHECK.
Stale storyline that's already older than grandpa's buckskin rubber.

Re: Riders Republic
Hate the idiotic "Bodie bruh" s***. But there's no denying the gameplay is pretty damned fun. Online is about as breezy to get into as any game I've ever played, and quick.
PK and I played several versus matches last night, and had a blast. Even in beta, absolute no issues connecting and getting into a race.
This was barely on my radar. It's becoming a game I just might day one purchase now.

Re: Riders Republic
I play most of the games on mute. Except Fortnite (Bush Hiding Simulator) so I miss all that s***.
the bike races are good but the trick ski ones kinda bore me. Any other modes I might be missing?

Re: Riders Republic
I found the beta to be mediocre. Cut scenes on the Series X certainly seem to run less than 60 fps. Hopefully they can smooth this out. and there seems to be some clipping that is noticeable.
Character models feel and look last gen. Very weak detailing overall.
I don't care for the storyline, and I didn't get too far to see if my "character" actually speaks or just nods. I have a feeling they're a mute like in the Horizon series.
Gameplay wise, the biking feels a little too floaty. I thought skiing was decent, and was not a fan of the wingsuit, but maybe I need to get more comfortable with it. Visually, it doesn't feel next gen.
I haven't yet tried out online.
The beta got extended to the 28th so I'll give it some more play time over the next couple days.

Re: Riders Republic
As I told Teal during our fun last night, this game is growing on me like a beanstalk that OD'd on Stearns Miracle-Gro. So much fun.
Plus -- and I can't stress this enough -- RR may be the easiest game of the Xbox One/Series X-S generation in which to invite friends. All you need to do is join an online game, and if your friends are in your party, they're pulled right in with you. It harkens to a day early in the Xbox Live era about 18-19 years ago in which it was this simple for so many games. Now, some games require a damn owners' manual just to get a friend into an online game.
Stoked the beta was extended!

Re: Riders Republic
I understand the beta is now public for everyone to play. Going to try and get on this evening if anyone else will be there.
Re: Riders Republic
Did anyone buy this? It is only $20 at GameStop and Amazon today, I went ahead and ordered even though I have no idea when I'll play it. My boys are into skiing and might get into it.

Re: Riders Republic
Didn't buy it. Teal and I fell head-over-heels in love with the demo, yet we both agreed something happened with the free trial of the finished game. It wasn't nearly as fun.
Maybe the game has been patched since release. It had SO much promise in the demo.
