IMO, it's worth twice that in it's current form. I paid $48 as a pre-release and don't regret my purchase. The driving model is sublime.

I picked it up during the sale and have only done some of the early career races, so far it is pretty enjoyable. The menus aren't the easiest to navigate, but maybe I'm just missing some shortcuts. One thing that seems oddly difficult is quickly buying a car to fit the specific requirements for a race/series.

Dave, the easiest way to load up on cars is to do the daily workout routine which is to drive roughly 28 miles in the game per day and you automatically get a random car. After a week or two you should have enough cars to allow you to enter most races.

Do you miss out on any races if you don’t have the VR stuff?

How many of us have GTS? If we have enough we should set up a lobby and turn a few laps.

Count me in.......
GT Sport has been my addiction since it released. It’s not perfect, but damn I enjoy it.
Best multiplayer console racer I’ve ever played. I’ve logged over 500 multiplayer races and I’m still playing it regularly.

I really don’t know anyone who actually played that much of GT...lol. I have it installed, but as mentioned a few posts back, the menus are a disaster so it makes it frustrating to do simple stuff.

The menus haven’t bothered me at all.

I don't have a problem with the menus either, they're different than previous games in the series but it's pretty straight forward how to do the basic stuff.

Very let down by the fact thus game is basically online only. GT has never been anything other than a good looking car collector. It was fun as hell back in the ps1 and ps2 days, before we were treated to REAL driving Sims. It's a good game, but it's as close to being a racing simulator as Mario is to being a plumber. Real cars don't sound like vacuum cleaners, and real cars don't handle at all like in GT. The damage model is also embarrassing. I would play the game for the license tests and to just experiment with cars on my own time. Online racing is exactly what I don't like. I don't need fierce competition or to be judged for how I drive. I work hard and use gaming as a way to relax. This new wanna be ultra competitive style of racing puts me off.

The fact they released a game with no true career mode is mind boggling to me. By all accounts forza is better in every way. For ps4 only people like me, I guess we are left out in the cold. Thanks for nothing, GT.

only a short 7+ years later, but God love you for posting this. Agree with evey word 100%. I too, pretty much fell out of love with GT, when the Dreamcast and it's array of racing titles arrived. And then permanently when Forza 1 was introduced. That said, at least Poly recently implemented a patch to archive GT Sport as permanently playable offline. They have my respect for that.

Asseto Corsa Competizione blows both GT and Forza to smithereens for pure offline GT racing. Nothing better on a console, wheel or gamepad.

I say that as a Forza fanatic. I played FM 7 more than any other game in my life -- seriously -- and very much enjoy the new FM. But neither can compare to ACC for pure racing through very good AI and physics.

thanks, Paul. ACC (and the prior AC game) always intrigued me, but wasn't certain on the car list, but more importantly didn't know if the title would be suitable via a controller. Appreciate you chiming in on this.

The car list is FAR smaller that of GT or Forza because ACC is a racing game, not a "car lifestyle" or a car-collecting game. The entire mojo of ACC is racing, not collecting and tuning.

Vinny, curious why you're not playing Gran Turismo 7 and electing to play an older and less acclaimed game?

I'd prefer to hold out for the PS5 version (currently only own a PS4 Pro & Series X). Additionally, I make it a point to not purchase 'always online' game titles. As most become disposable drink coasters, when the servers inevitably shut down. At least Polyphony didn't let this happen with GT Sport, and therefore GT7 is back on my radar.

sidenote: hope your College Football 25 career is going well. Take it easy, Dan.
