NHL 2015-16 season thread

Post by XXXIV »

I wanted to move the goofy Kaner pics here but I have what could good news for Hawk fans instead.

http://abc7chicago.com/sports/report-dn ... on/992789/

I could and many others could very well owe Kane many apologies...

Flyers first preseason game tonight. Looking forward to watching the Flyers young defensive corps. Supposedly Ivan Provorov (2015 1st rounder) has been opening major eyes at camp. Highly skilled and mobile...which is what Haktsol wants from his "D".

Who are the preseason favorites in both conferences? What are your predictions?

I haven't spent too much time thinking about it, but until I hear otherwise I have to think TB is the clear favorite in the East. They are a young team, and didn't lose any pieces from the team that went to the finals.

In the West, it could be wide open. Chicago saw several pieces leave, and the Kane BS is hanging over everything. Will Dano, Anisimov and Teravainen fill the holes of Sharp, Saad and Richards?

Can the Kings bounce back without Voynov and Mr. Game 7 gone (Justin Williams)? Calgary and Anaheim look to be on the rise, but last year could've been a fluke for both as their possession stats were awful.

I also like Tampa again in the east. Would love the Habs but I dont see where they will start scoring with the Bolts when and if they meet in the playoffs.

It would have been easier to pick the Kings if not for the losses but I see no better alternative... Hawks will probably be at least a year away but I have no doubt this core will get back to the Finals at some point and Toews will skate the Cup.

The Final I am hoping for is Habs Hawks and I know how much you all want to see it.

Wait until Travis Konecny makes the team next year, he's going to be the next great Flyer. Wanted my Blues to trade up and draft him badly in June.
Provorov is definitely NHL ready so that was a great pick for the Flyers. I'm interested to see what they do with Travis Sanheim, who's also going to be a stud. As you can tell the Flyers are my 2nd favorite team next to my Blues.

Glad to hear! I loved what I saw in Konecny last night. He was all over the ice. Provorov is very skilled. Doesn't look even close to 18. I'd love to see them both on the squad. #79 & 80 baby!

Kocnency is coming back to Ottawa I believe. Which bodes well for the 67's, talk is Travis and Dante Salituro could be the first 67's to get upwards of 80 points each since a long time ago........

I need to get off my butt and see a 67's game now that the rink is reopened.

First the didn't find any of Kane's DNA below the accusers waist, then the whole really fishy story of the evidence bag yesterday and now this

http://espn.go.com/chicago/nhl/story/_/ ... -was-found

I'm always more apt to believe the women in these cases but this is sounding more and more like a set up.

Yep Kocnency sent back. Kinda surprised me. I thought they'd keep him around for a while longer. Provorov also sent back to his junior team. Surprising.

Yeah even the announcers on the 67s game wondered why they didn't keep him for 9 games at least.

Hopefully it means a good run for the 67s this year. They need it.

Feels like Christmas eve for me. Cannot wait for tomorrow night for the big boys to hit the ice. I've been watching a lot of OHL and WHL games via hockeystreams the last two weeks.

Very excited for the Flyers Hakstol era to begin. Hopefully we get in the playoffs. Mason believes he can play 60 games this year 8O I'm not holding my breathe. I like the way Hextall and Hakstol are handling business. Waiving Macdonald was a fairly shocking move. Hopefully Laughton lives up to his potential.

@Lighning on Thursday night!
