Re: MLB The Show 15
Sadly, nothing about the commentary upgrade I thought I had read about in the last month. Matt V is still in the broadcast booth, but it's supposed to be somewhat of an improvement.
Re: MLB The Show 15
Hell, yeah. Looking forward to the year-to-year saves and continuing my RTTS career from last year. I would love to see more games do this, especially NBA 2k.
Curious about how the new pitch breaks will be handled. Wonder if it will be easier to read changeups than previous years. Also wondering how pitching will be -- that's the one area where I think the game is a little lacking, because it's hard to find a balance between having some control over pitching but still throwing enough balls.

As always a 1st day purchase. Lots of updates I'm looking forward to. They don't have to re invent the wheel here. Keep adding enhancements, tweeks , etc. and I'm happy. I would love to see a simple option for manual base running.

Play by play improvements:
* Improved strike zone accuracy with new pitch locations for on-the-black calls and borderline balls & strikes
* Improved hit call accuracy through new field zone locations and deeper parameter logic
* Improved runner rounding base and runner scoring content for more exciting big-play calls
* Improved deep fly ball logic that allows more diverse calls on potential home runs, and prevents the user from hearing calls that give away the play result before it occurs
* Improved foul ball logic to allow for open-ended play-by-play on playable or nearly playable balls, prevents user from hearing calls that give away the result
* New batter introductions and pitch result content for the new skip batter walkup system (speeds up gameplay, tightens play-by-play)
* New system for handling safe result calls that includes proper acknowledgement of the runner’s slide type
* New conversations with color commentary that remember and discuss the team’s recent record
* New conversations with color commentary that highlight the impact of important double plays
* New PA batter introductions and content for the new Home Run Derby format
* New batter introductions that call out the three part stat line for Average, Home Runs, and RBI’s on the year
* New create-a-player first and last names
* New play by play and color commentary content for the manager challenge system
* Over 1,700 new lines of play-by-play content
* Over 1,400 new lines of color commentary

Re: MLB The Show 15
I've only dabbled in RTTS mode over the years because I've liked playing w/ the Braves so much...but this year, I think I'm going to be doing the RTTS...cuz they are gonna be BAD.

^This^. Funny, I just pre-order the game yesterday with some trade in bonus that GS is running until the end of the month. Last year I played a heck of a lot with RTTS, and hey it's supposed to be a breaking year for the Jays right?snaz16 wrote:As always a 1st day purchase. Lots of updates I'm looking forward to. Don't we say that every season.
Re: MLB The Show 15
They fix the part when it's a foul into the stands the camera follows it for 5 wasted seconds?
Re: MLB The Show 15
That was me last year with the Cubs. Had never really played RTTS before but wound up loving it and getting three seasons in. I was drafted by the Astros as a LF, which made fielding extra exciting because of the wall there.dbdynsty25 wrote:I've only dabbled in RTTS mode over the years because I've liked playing w/ the Braves so much...but this year, I think I'm going to be doing the RTTS...cuz they are gonna be BAD.

Re: MLB The Show 15
The Braves rotation is stacked...so I've got a season of 1-0, 2-1 and 2-0 losses ahead of me I think.sportdan30 wrote:But, you have Shelby Miller!dbdynsty25 wrote:I've only dabbled in RTTS mode over the years because I've liked playing w/ the Braves so much...but this year, I think I'm going to be doing the RTTS...cuz they are gonna be BAD.

Meh....still no fielder cam option.
Re: MLB The Show 15
Always a first day purchase for me. My favorite game of all time.
I am still on the PS3 and was happy and surprised to see that they are only charging $40 this year. Nice.
Looking forward to some of the tweaks they mention. I had some trouble with defense last year and paths to fly balls. Not sure if that was just me but will be interested to see if it changed at all.

Re: MLB The Show 15
Here is the archived stream of the gameplay reveal from Pastapadre's site. I really liked what they had to say about directional hitting. At about the 11:45 mark of the video Ramone brings in two of the developers. One is named, I believe, Chris Gill and he played professionally. What he says about directional hitting (while they are demonstrating it) is spot on. This is what makes The Show sooooooo good. I love that there is a guy like this on their team. I think in previous baseaball video games directional hitting was gimmicky. This is the real s***. It is strategy. It is how you are supposed to play baseball. It is how the game is played at the highest level. I can't tell you how much situational hitting was stressed when I was with Milwaukee and it has become even more pronounced in today's MLB. I'm even more excited for 15 now.
