Sports gaming questions for 2004

What are the most compelling sports gaming questions for 2004?
 
 Here are a few of mine:
 What will Microsoft do with the High Heat franchise? Will we see it on the PC or the PS2 or just the Xbox? Can they do anything this year or was it too late in the development cycle when they bought the rights to the game?
 
 Will Sega/ESPN make a college football game this year using the ESPN NFL engine?
 
 What will EA do to improve NCAA Football for this season?
 
 Will we finally see some significant improvements in game atmosphere in Madden? <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_confused.gif"> <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_razz.gif">
 
 Will we ever see an excellent college basketball game?

Will MLB 2005 play as well as the videos look? All I can say is Wow Wow Wow!
 
 Will EA fix the glaring issues in MVP 2004?
 
 Will Acclaim´s ASB be as much as an improvement this year as they are claiming it to be?
 
 Will Downhill Domination return with a follow-up that allows gamers to play online?
 
 Will Sega finally include in-game saves in their games?
 
 Will EA starting taking the March Madness series seriously????
 
 Will Top Spin return with dozens more professionals to choose from and also better online lobbies and equal opponents?
 
 Will Top Spin include in-game saves?
 
 Will Ping Pong finally make it to the consoles?

Will EA ever make a realistic console golf game?
 
 Will more games allow online multi-player action similar to NHL Rivals?
 
 Will the next batch of NFL games include realistic end zone celebrations? I can´t wait for the Joe Horn "phone a friend" or Plaxico Burress "Ooops...that´s a live ball spike" unlockable celebrations!

 5. Will Kush ever fix the broken goalie AI in ESPN NHL Hockey?

 Trust me, IndyCar Series 2004 could be something very special if the Codies deliver as promised. If you don´t like oval racing, then there´s nothing the game will do to change your mind. But if you like ultra-competitive oval racing with another wrinkle I can´t mention, it should be bitchin.

Will the swing animations be improved in ESPN Baseball? What about field size?
 
 Will the "fielder cam" in ASB 2005 be more than just a gimmick?
 
 Will I buy every baseball game again in 2004?
 
 Will Winning Eleven 7 have a slightly less intimidating menu system for someone who doesn´t follow soccer? Especially with regards to seeking out players based on team needs.
 
 When will we see the first real sports RPG, in which you assume the role of a single player in a sport and make off the field decisions while also participating in actual games, the controls perhaps locked to your own character? I envision a basketball game where your player´s chemistry and history with other team members affects their trust in you, i.e. whether they´ll pass to you if you call for it.

 I like the idea of the sports RPG. The only one of those I can see on the horizon (apart from ChampMan, of course) is from the people who developed the OOTP5 baseball game. They are now about to finish one called ´Inside the Park´ baseball, where you take on the role of a player and try to develop your career.
 
 Should be out in a couple of months, apparently. I enjoyed OOTP, so this may be worth keeping an eye on. I can´t remember their website address at the mo, but the company is called OOTP Developments.
 
 **In fact, I just found their website (www.ootpdevelopments.com), and the game releases tomorrow (Fri 19th) as a download of about 22mb. I might well shell out for it tomorrow (well, I finish for 2 weeks at lunchtime <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_biggrin.gif"> ), and will drop some impressions afterward. Is that RPG baseball game the one where you pay a subscription like Everquest?
 
 So in the baseball games, you have each player controlled by a human?
 
 I´ve seen a preview on TV but it didn´t look that smooth. Certainly nothing like a regular baseball game.

wco - no, it´s a text based thingy, like OOTP5. I think its 20 of your US dollars, then that´s it.
 
 Have a deck at their website. I don´t know whether you play every game pbp, as each season would take you ages.

A few more questions:
 
 1. Will the oversized strike zone finally be fixed in ESPN Baseball?
 
 2. Will First Person mode be implemented in any other Sega Sports games? First Person hoops or hockey would be sick ...
 
 3. Will CPU players actually swing at pitches outside of the strike zone in MVP Baseball?

 Will next year´s NFL games have an option for stupid celebrations...in which case I get to do Mark Gastineau´s sack dance on Ray Lewis´s head in diver´s boots.
 
 Will anyone be able to run a soccer thread on here without me adding my two pence worth, usually with some MCFC related irrelevance ?
 
 Will I be able to acquire any NTSC Xbox game from the US following recommendations on here and receive it before the backlash starts ?
 
 Will any ESPN game feel enjoyable for me to play, and not like actually being at work ?
 
 Will I meet any of you online (once I´ve wired myself up properly, which should be tomorrow <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_biggrin.gif"> ), and talk to anyone without them saying ´what´, as they struggle to decipher my Coronation St accent...and the expletives..
