All those Brazilians stars weren't enough, Mexico win gold.

Imagine what his times would be if he didn't slow up in the last 10 meters.10spro wrote:The amazing thing about Usain, is that he rarely gets off a great start, but eventually he just plain outruns the rest of the field in the last 40 meters.

That women's USA vs Canada was one of the most entertaining soccer matches I have seen in a long time.10spro wrote:You think? Helluva game, regardless. The loss erases a great effort by M. Sinclair who scored a hat trick and they played well enough to steal one, but it was not meant to be.pigpen81 wrote:Wow...classic Woman's soccer match at Old Trafford. The US pulled that one out....with a little help from the ref IMO. Great resolve by both teams. Congrats to Canada as well for arriving in Woman's soccer.
The earlier semis between Japan and France was great to watch as well, but it wasn't as dramatic as the USA-Canada game.
The rematch with Japan for the gold should be exciting to watch.
The match vs Japan was almost a let down after the excitement of that one. Rapino has really emerged as a threat to
score from anywhere and KUDOS to the US women for bringing home the gold against a scrappy and quick Japan team.
The USA women are making the USA men look like amateurs.

Saw a bit of the women's bronze basketball game. Glad Becky Hammon didn't get a medal. She became a naturalized Russian citizen back in 2008 because she couldn't make the US team. No family history with Russia, just a grab at Olympic glory. Complete opposite of the situation of Abeba Aregawi, a 1500m female runner. Married to a Swedish man, she became a Swedish citizen, but supposedly threats against her family in Ethiopia by the state forced her to run for Ethiopia. And don't get me started on the "American" (Leo Manzano) who got 2nd in the 1500m. In this country since age 4 and he waves a freaking Mexican flag side-by-side with the US flag?
Awesome job by the Americans in the decathlon.

Bolt is so out of this world. Just amazing. He preens, he's cocky, he backs it up. Simply the best.

He better not have juiced because all this adulation will turn around so quick.

Big upset as the Brazilians are still winless in the quest for the golden medal. Even though they played the type of soccer that's beautiful to watch for most of the Olympics, they barely got by Honduras and their D was suspect as it was shown again in the finals.miget33 wrote:All those Brazilians stars weren't enough, Mexico win gold.

Think how good our woman's team would be without all of the unnecessary giveaways. Rachel Bueller is the giveaway queen. At least Hope Solo has her back.
