TDU2

Post by Teal »

I preordered this one this evening. Kind of snuck up on me, but I absolutely played the first one to death, and outside of an utter catastrophe, I'll love this one, too.

Anyone else planning on picking it up?

I preordered this thru Amazon 2 months ago. I bought the first one the day it came out and thought it was an awesome idea, MMO racing game. My only complaint was the framerate at times and the simplistic car handling. The game was so fresh I overlooked those two issues, can't wait for TDU2. :)

I preordered mine a while back at Gamestrop. Their pre-order bonus was the casino, where you can play games against other players. I'm sure it will be available to everyone eventually, but I haven't heard if it will be an unlock or DLC.

I'm still on the fence. The game looks cool in a lot of ways, but the handling looks pretty basic and not compelling.

Mildly enjoyed the first game. Have decided to pass on this one though.

Same here. I kinda liked the first one and I have it preordered it at Gamestop but Im leaning heavily towards pass. I probably would have got it but the quick fading away of my interest in gt5 has left a bad taste in my mouth.

How did GT5 ruin your interest in TDU2 as they are two totally different racing games? :?

Can't wait for Feb 8th as I got it pegged for same day delivery with Amazon.

Yes they are!

It wasnt a slap at gt5. That game, despite is flaws, was better than I thought it would be. When it comes to console games I have a shorter and shorter attention span. Nothing but a GREAT game will do.
Its so much easier to sit at the pc, open and close windows, and have the TV playing sports , music or a movie at the same time.

OK I see your point, then buy the PC version ! :!: :)

edit: I also agree that GT5 is better than I thought even with all it's quirks.

People grabbing it off of the torrents are not saying a lot of nice things about this one.

Disregard the torrents, that's only an indicator if the game is hot. Besides this game is to be enjoyed online as was the first and most pirated games don't work online.

Can't wait to hear impressions from people who get this game. I will hold off until I can get some indication that the control is decent without a wheel.

I preordered it and loved the first one. Can't wait for this one. Someone should start a DSP car club. Apparently some of the unlockable cars are only available through clubs. I vaguely remember we had a car club for the first one, but there were only a few of us playing the game.

The first was easily one of my favorite games for this generation of consoles, so I cannot wait till the new one comes out. All over it.

Well hell, read a ton of posts on the official Atari forum today and watched some dudes playing the game on streaming video. Game looks like it could be a lot of fun. Went ahead and ordered it since it is 39.99 on Amazon with release date delivery. Decided I might as well roll the dice on it since I can probably get my money back on it if I decide I do not like it. I have no will power when it comes to racing games. Will play it most of the day tomorrow and post some impressions.

I had a blast with the first one, and still pop it in now and then, so like Teal as long as this one is as good I'll be happy. I'm getting it on the PS3 this time though instead of Xbox.

I my copy shipped yesterday via USPS, hopefully i'll get it by this weekend. Toon how did you score the game for $39.99 at Amazon? The only one at that price was the PC version. The good is all three versions come with a $10 future credit.

Also FYI, Kmart is is giving a $10 credit for this game this week.
