I'm currently sitting still, with my head up my own ass, apparently My work hours are so long, and the job so mentally taxing, that I can't make heads or tails out of the real world most days! Yes, it's Saturday, but everything else still applies. Won't be able to get on until around 11pm CST now, however.SEMINOLE wrote:damn dude, not sure where you are, but tonight is Saturday for most of ustealboy03 wrote:I'm able to play tonight (Friday) if anyone can. Thanks for reminding me what a doof I am sometimes Seminole. And thanks for tearing off my rear bumper last night at Daytona...

Miss State-12
Temple- 7
Mississippi State jumped out to an early lead, thanks to a field goal in the first quarter. Temple responded in the second with a TD pass to take the lead, 7-3, following a failed FG attempt in the first quarter. Mississippi State drove down to the 1 yard line, but poor time management left them hanging there when the gun sounded for halftime.
The third quarter saw a defensive struggle, with the only score coming on the foot of the MS kicker, cutting Temple's lead to 7-6. Temple drove the ball deep into MS territory, but a game saving INT in the end zone put a stop to the drive, and gave MS the ball once again. MS drove the ball downfield for a score by the FB from the one yard line with just 2:16 remaining in the game. A last effort by Temple was thwarted by an INT, and MS ran the clock out to secure the victory!
Great game, Leadfoot. Good defensive struggle. Enjoyed it quite a bit...

Yep - great game Teal. My second really fun game in a row. Unfortunately, also my second loss. On to the highlights...
Temple took the lead in the second quarter as DiMichele threads a pass between 3 defenders...

That's what I like to hear. I generally don't get online until around 10pm Central, and stay on pretty late. We should be able to work something out.dieselboy wrote:

Just played a great game against Temple (Leadfoot/Pardresfan) winning by three on a game that could of easily gone either way.
Touchdown in the first half to take an early lead.

56 yard FG near the end of the half.

OK. We've got league software up (see the main menu on the left). Here are instructions on how to (hopefully) get your results into the standings.
1) Click on DSP Leagues on the left.
2) Click on Standings. Find your team and click on it.
3) Click on "I'm the Captain". It should hopefully just do it and not give you any strange messages. IF it does, please post here.
4) Go to schedule and there should be a curved upward pointing arrow for your games. Click on it, and it should give you a screen to input the score of your game.
Let me know if this works. If not, I may have a workaround...

A couple notes: I clicked the 'I'm the captian' link, but I'm not seeing any arrows to report game results. Also, is there any way to link to the standings from the team schedule page without going back through the 'main menu' on the left and then hitting the standings link (two extra steps). Finally, there are three columns in the standings, but there aren't ties anymore in college football, games go to OT.

I believe I have to validate that you're the captain before arrows show up. I just did that, so let me know if the arrows have shown up for your games or not.
Let me try and figure out the standings/menu part and get that fixed.
And as for the standings, yeah, I'm aware of the lack of ties. I'm trying to find out where to configure the standings page to take out ties and add points for and points against, but I haven't figured that out yet. Hopefully I'll be able to.
Temple is the early front runner for hard-luck team of the season, though none of the losses really had to do with luck, just poor play selection/execution.
3 games, 3 losses, all by 5 points or less. 2 point loss to Kent St., 3 point loss to ULL, and a 5 point loss to Miss. St.

Duke Cruises At Home, Win 34-7 Over Miss. St.
Duke 34 - Miss. St. 7
Duke got some good ol', North Carolina, vinegar based home smoked cookin' and thanks to some bizzaro turnovers trounced visiting Mississippi St. 34-7.
The first score of the game was off of the first odd fumble, when MS St.'s HB bounced off a big DT, ran a couple steps the wrong way, turned and was crushed, only to drop the ball which was picked up and carried into the endzone for a 7-0 Duke lead. (I thought we could upload 5 videos to the EA thing, so somehow I missed this one).
After a long drive extended Duke's lead to 14-0 with about 1:36 to go in the half, MS St. were able to drive down the field and narrow the deficit to 14-7 heading into the half thanks to this clutch 18 yd. TD pass:
<embed src='http://admin.brightcove.com/destination ... player.swf' bgcolor='#FFFFFF' flashVars='allowFullScreen=true&initVideoId=1130050665&servicesURL=http://www.brightcove.com&viewerSecureGatewayURL=https://www.brightcove.com&cdnURL=http://admin.brightcove.com&autoStart=false' base='http://admin.brightcove.com' name='bcPlayer' width='486' height='412' allowFullScreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always' seamlesstabbing='false' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... h'></embed>
MS St. received the 2nd half kickoff looking to even the score, but they had no idea more bizarre stuff was in store for them. On the second play of the drive, the MS St. QB ended up with a Romo special slick ball and couldn't hang on:
<embed src='http://admin.brightcove.com/destination ... player.swf' bgcolor='#FFFFFF' flashVars='allowFullScreen=true&initVideoId=1130057678&servicesURL=http://www.brightcove.com&viewerSecureGatewayURL=https://www.brightcove.com&cdnURL=http://admin.brightcove.com&autoStart=false' base='http://admin.brightcove.com' name='bcPlayer' width='486' height='412' allowFullScreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always' seamlesstabbing='false' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... h'></embed>
Duke were able to cash in on the good field position and extend their lead to 20-7 despite a missed PAT. Duke stopped MS St. on the next drive, and took over the game. On their next possession, backup HB #20 finished the drive with a nice catch and run in the flat for about 30yds (starter #2 was knocked out for the game early in the 2nd quarter):
<embed src='http://admin.brightcove.com/destination ... player.swf' bgcolor='#FFFFFF' flashVars='allowFullScreen=true&initVideoId=1130041658&servicesURL=http://www.brightcove.com&viewerSecureGatewayURL=https://www.brightcove.com&cdnURL=http://admin.brightcove.com&autoStart=false' base='http://admin.brightcove.com' name='bcPlayer' width='486' height='412' allowFullScreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always' seamlesstabbing='false' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... h'></embed>
Finally, Duke finished any hope MS St. had of a comeback with a back-breaking INT for a TD to finish off the scoring at 34-7:

Final score, Duke 34, MS St. 7.
Good game, Teal. Those wacky turnovers really turned the game, and without that fumble early in the 3rd quarter, who knows what might have happened. Good luck the rest of the way.
