Can someone explain to me why College HC's always have an entourage of State Troopers?
Re: NCAA Season 2011
We didn't really play anyone, but a great game nonetheless.. a week off and then it's OU.

Canes handled Ohio State fairly easily DESPITE Jacory Harris...man that kid is garbage. Couldn't the Canes boosters have paid someone better?
Re: NCAA Season 2011
if Russell Wilson isn't a future NFL QB, will kiss your @ss. Viewing 10 minutes of him in last week's game, this were evident. He looked even better, yesterday
as for the Badgers, would not want to be an opposing defense.
Wisconsin have had a few top teams over the past years. Yet, none of their teams have honestly been on the level of the top SEC teams. Essentially due to a lack of athleticism at the QB and overall passing game. Well, that's changed.

NFL QB or star NFL QB?
A lot of guys end up on rosters or practice squads so they're NFL QBs.
It's predicting which ones will become good starting QBs that's the trick.

Re: NCAA Season 2011
The only problem with Wilson is his height. He's 5'10", and there's no way around that. He is accurate, especially on the run and has mobility and speed. If he was 6'2" he'd be a 1st round pick.

NFL Starter.
should be a Round 1 selection. However, won't be due to effeminate scouts who get hard-ons for height & physiques above on-field performance.

not a bandwagon man, tho. Originally from New Berlin Wisconsin. Dating back to 1984, would impersonate Mike Howard completing passes to Al Toon in the back yard.
don't have to tell you how far the program's transcended from that time. Did anyone ever believe Wisconsin would become a perennial?!! At the same time, this is the only time have ever believed this team may be capable of lining up head to head with top SEC team, and actually winning without smoke & mirrors. The difference being the passing game.
Re: NCAA Season 2011
Interesting article by Wetzel about a playoff system in light of all the superconferences forming. I kind of figured the current trend of superconferences would lead to increased talk about a playoff system. Hopefully sanity will win the day and the universities will see the economic boom a playoff system would create.

Re: NCAA Season 2011
I thought the Big East Conference was messed up until I realized the following.
UCLA is 6-6 but playing in the Pac 12 Championship game. If they win, they get the BCS birth and go to the Rose Bowl. A loss, and they are 6-7 and not even bowl eligible. Talk about all or nothing.
I would love to see a 7-6 Bruins team and a 7-5 Lousville team in the BCS. Maybe then this whole system will get blown up and we can have a playoff.

Re: NCAA Season 2011
The fact that UCLA just got absolutely destroyed by UCS makes the PAC 10 a joke in general. Sure, USC can't play in any post season games, but clearly USC can play with anyone and can definitely beat anyone...UCLA is a crock and shouldn't be playing in anything that says "title" game in it, let alone a BCS game.
Re: NCAA Season 2011
Eat 'em up Coogs! Good win by UH over PSU today. Keenum absolutely torched the top 10 secondary of PSU.

Boy, that BCS system sure is working well:

Plus, this thread was buried midway through the second page of the forum on the morning of the so-called "national championship" game. What does that tell you about the popularity and effectiveness of the BCS?

Re: NCAA Season 2011
A lot of awful bowl matchups this year. The Rose and Fiesta Bowls were the only interesting ones, while tonight's "championship" has the appeal and originality of The Hangover II.
They need to go back to putting all the big bowls on Jan 1 and having the championship game within a day or two of that. What made college bowls interesting before was that by having 2-3 game available at any given time on New Year's, you could usually find something interesting to watch.

I can't remember being less interested in a BCS title game in a long long time. Don't get me wrong, I'll still watch the game
tonight, but it pales in comparison to a Final Four and NFL playoffs. Playoffs are desperately needed once and for all!
