Is this as addictive as Toca was? I know nothing about cars but I played the living s*** out of Toca. Didn't really love another game like that until the Forza Horizon series.

I think it is and I still fondly remember the original Toca and Toca 2 on the Playstation. The graphics are PC level quality at 60 FPS, the physics are top notch, the AI is solid thanks to the Drivatar AI. The career mode is fun as you level up and obtain more cars.

I'll second what Rodster said above. Forza 5 is the finest console game I've ever played... period. The only reason I don't play it more than I do is I flat out suck with a thumbstick controller in racing games. I tried to adapt my Fanatec Porsche GT2 steering wheel to work with my XBox One via a Titan One controller adapter, and it's not possible to come anywhere close to what the wheel is supposed to feel like, plus it doesn't have force feedback support when emulating and XBox One wheel.

I will be buying a Logitech G920 when it comes out in October, and that will allow me to play PC and XBox One racing games from the same cockpit in my media/rec room. I Project CARS is the only PS4 racing game that holds any interest for me and I have it on my PC, which does a much better job with it anyway, so I'll just dial the PS4 out of my racing game profile. I'll be playing the Forza 6 demo heavily until the Logitech wheel is released, then I'll jump into it full bore come October.

Yes. I'm not big on fictitious tracks, especially at the expense of real circuits. But Maple Valley was pretty and very fun.

I don't believe Turn 10 has stated a time the demo will be released, just that it will be available on Sept. 1

There is speculation on the Turn 10 forums that it will be 5am EDT based on when they normally have the Tuesday DLC posted, but this seems to be speculation at best. I will definitely be looking for it starting at midnight though. :)

Demo is up in the UK but not on the storefront yet - it comes up if you search for Forza 6 in the store, so I imagine it'll be on the storefront soon. It's 12.6 GB but there's no further info listed on exactly what the content is. I'm 10% or so into downloading it so probably a little while away from playing it.

Couple things to try to get the Forza 6 Demo to show up:
For those looking for the demo that can't find it in the Xbox Store, switch to Energ-Save mode, restart your Xbox, and the demo should be available in the store when your Xbox comes back on.
Some early impressions from the T10 Forums:
**** Spoilers, skip if you do not want to know *****

First thing you do is drive the new Ford GT around Brazil Track
Next Lime Rock Park (Day) in a VW Sciocco (need to finish 3rd or better)
Next Yas Marina (Night) VW Sciocco (need to finish 3rd or better)
Indi Brickyard in ... I forgot the car, one of those fast Formula cars! - This is a showcase Race
Sebring International Raceway (Rain) in the VW Sciocco (need to finish 3rd or better)

You get the chance to use the Boost Packs
You also get the chance to try out the prize spinner

Also.... HOLY COW... 24 Cars on a track --- Mind Blown!
Now I am officially late to work, gotta run! I'll try and answer any questions once I get to work

I just played through the demo at the default settings, until the last race when I turned off traction control, turned on simulation handling, had brake line information only, and average Drivatars... I'll just have to sum it up with a 8O This game is just sick! I thought Forza 5 would be hard to beat, but Forza 6 is clearly a new level, with even more subtle handling clues. The AI drivers/Drivatars show even more human like traits in their actions in Forza 6; I can't wait to see how much more characteristic of their human counterparts they take on as they learn each driver's traits.

I've seen enough of this already to know that I'm now going to have a have a force-feedback steering wheel designed to work with the XB1. Logitech's forthcoming G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel looks like it will do the trick, as it will also satisfy my PC racing needs. I've never seen any game push the XB1 to the limits that Turn 10 does... Forza 6 has got to be tapping some Directx 12 goodness somehow to be pushing these high detail, 1080p graphics at 60 FPS :o

It's rare that I get cold chills from something I feel/sense in a video game... it happened more times than I can count this morning with this demo, with more driving aids on than I usuall use, and with a thumbstick controller no less. I don't know how much more praise I could heap on a game... this one is already a clear winner, IMO 8)

Yeah, it is an awesome demo. The sound really stood out to me, not sure if it is because my son had the volume cranked up while playing NHL or what, but it was impressive.

Just saw Best Buy has a 4-hour sale that includes 10% off Xbox currency, might be a good way to save a little cash on the digital version if anyone is planning to go that route.

I'm in hot lust with almost all of this demo.

The graphics are gorgeous. Flawless at 60 fps. The menus are just as intuitive as Forza 5.

The cockpit shake increases the immersion even more than Forza 5.

The handling model is sublime. Not as precise as Project Cars, but it works FAR better with a controller. This game was designed around the gamepad, unlike Project Cars, which was designed for a wheel.

I love the addition of Lime Rock.

The wet-weather handling and graphics models are ASTOUNDING. Braking distances are increased properly in the wet, and hydroplaning when hitting puddles is insanely realistic. I've never played a game with rain that is more realistic.

There are two aspects of the demo that leave me a bit cold. I'm not sure about the new mods system. These seem like gimmicky power-ups. We'll see how they're implemented in the full game.

And the drafting and cornering models are poor in the IndyCars at Indianapolis. The AI cars slow far too much in corners, the closing speeds are far too unrealistic through drafting, even at higher skill levels, and the handling model is a bit too twitchy.

I'm still geeked out of my mind for the full game next week after playing this demo. Lovely in almost every way.

I had that exact thought, especially in the Indy race. This was what drew me into the Shift games, and it feels like it is now in Forza, which is a better racer in every other way than the Shift games.

I'm going to hold off judgment in regard to Mods. It seems like an arcady gimmick, and really weird. My gut tells me that it won't really matter too much to the game if you want to ignore it. It looks like just another way to sell boosts.

But this became a for sure day one buy. I expected to like the demo. I didn't expect it to feel so good that Forza 5 now feels outdated.

Just Kidding! What a f***in awesome demo! The thing that got me over the top was the Indy race at the Indy500 track. Man the sense of speed was unreal out of the cockpit cam.

Game wasn't on my radar but I may end up getting it. If this is just the demo, how great will the full version be. Screw NHL AND FIFA, I'll spend my gaming money on this one.

I'm surprised also how well I did. I guess it's on idiot racing mode, but I do like that I have the freedom to customize it to my liking. And thank god for that Y button :) .

I thank project cars for getting me in the sim racing mode, but I probably won't be touching PCars for a while. Now if F6 has carts, then I'll probably just sell PCars.

I'm floored with this demo! The sense of speed is spot on! The smooth racing at 60FPS with 24 cars on track helps with the immersion! Love the new Rio and Lime Rock track. I wasn't a fan of Yas Marina in Forza 5, but something about racing it at night makes it much more enjoyable now. Sebring in the rain, Turn 10 did a amazing job with those effects. I certainly hope most, if not all tracks, will get the rain treatment with future DLC. Turn 10 hit it out of the park again!

The rain is implemented very well, it is cool having to adapt your line around a corner if the water has pooled somewhere near the racing line.

Lime Rock is a lot of fun. I had a hell of a time putting in consistent, fast laps there in iRacing and that seems to be the case here as well.

I hate Yas Marina.

Yes, yes and yes. Especially the last point. Yas Marina represents everything I HATE about Hermann Tilke track design. Choppy, ugly, absolutely zero flow or rhythm. Another sh*tty Tilkedrome.

I still prefer the Horizon series to Forza Motorsport as I like arcade/sim style racing vs a complete sim, but there's no denying that the Forza 6 demo isn't amazing. It's gorgeous and the full game will be loaded with content. I'll undoubtedly own it, but I'm quite certain I'll be going back and forth between games.
