Halo 3 and now Gears 1! At least make it Gears 2. The original and best Horde mode of any game. Only redeeming factor for xbox is no sub required to keep the games... so what, its required for everything else!
While newer, you could say the same for Borderlands 2: You must've played that one. Nice though to be able to ditch or sell the disc copy for a free game. I already did that when it was on sale this summer for $10 on Games on Demand.
Looking forward most to Grid 2 since I never played that one. Also recently picked up Binary Domain free off PSN, which is like a Gears knock off. I'd probably have a better time playing Gears 1 again.
Thanks for the tip. Even at free, I'd rather not waste time on a lesser driving game when I have better ones in my backlog.
Edit: I ended up trying a few races in Grid 2. Didn't seem that bad, but I'm a very casual racing gamer. The only other racers I have on PS3 are Motorstorm and LBP Karting (was also free).
Xbox Live Gold Members get Dead Island and Toy Soldiers: Cold War Free in February
Starting Saturday (February 1st) Dead Island (Normally US $19.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through February 15th .
Then on February 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download Toy Soldiers: Cold War (Normally US $14.99) for free.
Broken record time but....PSN+ has Tomb Raider (the new one) for March. I thought MS were upping their game with an awesome January.
If you have a PS3 and PSN...great news. But last time I checked, this was a thread about free games with XBL Gold...
It may be, but as someone with both and hadn't really touched the ps3 for ages, getting psn has breathed new life whereas the MS offerings have been poor. Though I admit some great sales the last few months.
Civ Revolution is very awesome. I remember that game came out when my daughter was born, and I was so thankful for the parent-friendly, turn-based gameplay!

Okay...but...free games with XBL thread...just sayin'. There's a PSN thread...

June games on Xbox 360 will be Dark Souls, Charlie Murder and Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (bonus 3rd game for 1 year anniversary).
We should note that, on the One, at least, they will be going with the PS+ method of tying game ownership to your Gold subscription. It's the only way to make getting newer and better games viable, I suppose.
July games
360: Gotham City Imposters (July 1-15) and Battleblock Theater (July 16-31)
XB1: Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition and Max The Curse of The Brotherhood
Super Mega Baseball 2- Big suprise here. Brand new game free out of the gates. Everything looks great, hopefully scratches the baseball itch for Xbox only users.
Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain- Awesome game for what it is. Definitely gives you that solo bad ass feel when you take out a whole village. Supernatural stuff turned me off a bit.
Vanquish- Very good futuristic 3rd person shooter.
Streets of Rage Sega Classics Collection- Hey, its free.
