Anyone remember the Jane's Simulation manuals? Those were pretty thick and impressive....Rodster wrote:My favorite was the original Falcon 4.0 manual. IIRC the game CD was inside the books hard bound front cover.

Infocom had awesome packaging as well, back when you actually had to READ to have fun.
I agree with Naples that, while mostly worthless, having the control diagram on a separate piece of paper was helpful at times.

I still have the Nascar Racing manual 200 pages and the Grand prix 3 one 182 pages.
A serious lack of shitter material as of late.
Its not all bad tho, now im in and out in less than a couple of minutes with no time for the legs to fall asleep![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

iRacing.com features an online driving school, with videos showing proper technique for all aspects of driving and racing. I find that much more informative and useful than any manual.

Re: EA Sports doing away with printed game manuals
EA seems to be releasing their games on paper-thin disks, now, too. In this past year I lost two EA games from center-out cracks, after a lifetime of never losing a disk in this manner. I know the new cases suck and are extra-grabby, but I haven't seen this yet with disks from any other publisher, and I'm pretty careful when I remove disks from the case.
