Yeah JD awesome game.

I'm not sure if we get emailed stats, I hope so but I haven't seen anything yet.

http://www.easportsworld.com/#video-3929/HOME/7973

Anyway from right to left I have 3 videos. As soon as the last one gets uploaded.

video 1
Here was the first big play, I was trailing 14-10 at the time. I thought this was cool because of the way he broke the tackles.

video 2.
I'm up 31-28 at this time, about 2:42 left in the game Watch how the QB evades the sack in the end zone and hits the big play.

You'll also notice my DB stopped running, this was because I hit B after the sack was missed to try and get near the QB and he passed it just before I hit the button. Before I knew what happened, well ya get the idea.

video3
I am driving down to take the go ahead score, and my TE decides to get a case of stone hands. This one sealed the win for NM.

Here was the biggest play of the game.... after a punt pinned me deep, I called play action and almost got taken down for a sack. I believe it was late in the 4th qtr, I'm down 28-31 (their website gets the situation info wrong).

Anyway, my QB manages to shake the sack on the 1yd line from an unblocked impact player DE that came around the corner. He steps up and unloads it for a 50yd strike to a wide open WR who races in for the winning TD:

<embed src='http://admin.brightcove.com/destination ... player.swf' bgcolor='#FFFFFF' flashVars='allowFullScreen=true&initVideoId=1130041920&servicesURL=http://www.brightcove.com&viewerSecureGatewayURL=https://www.brightcove.com&cdnURL=http://admin.brightcove.com&autoStart=false' base='http://admin.brightcove.com' name='bcPlayer' width='486' height='412' allowFullScreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always' seamlesstabbing='false' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... h'></embed>

The other is a good run by my RB, breaking two tackles up the middle for a 45yd TD score.

<embed src='http://admin.brightcove.com/destination ... player.swf' bgcolor='#FFFFFF' flashVars='allowFullScreen=true&initVideoId=1130041921&servicesURL=http://www.brightcove.com&viewerSecureGatewayURL=https://www.brightcove.com&cdnURL=http://admin.brightcove.com&autoStart=false' base='http://admin.brightcove.com' name='bcPlayer' width='486' height='412' allowFullScreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always' seamlesstabbing='false' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... h'></embed>

Looking back at the old SR League, here's the roster of bowl games we developed then (including input from the notorious "Siam" - now that brings back memories). It might be fun to continue since there is some history:

Punch Bowl (Rose Bowl, Pasadena) - National Championship
Sin City Bowl (Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas)
Mardi Gras Bowl (Louisiana Superdome, New Orleans)
Cup O' Joe Bowl (Husky Stadium, Seattle)
Lava Bowl (Aloha Stadium, Honolulu)
Bowl Formerly Known as Prince Bowl (Metrodome, Minneapolis)
Goldfish Bowl (Wien Stadium, New York)
Cereal Bowl (Waldo Stadium, Kalamazoo)
Dust Bowl (Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, Norman)
Siesta Bowl (Sun Bowl, El Paso)
Toilet Bowl (Bronco Stadium, Boise)

Man, looking back on those writeups there were some great games and a lotta fun. If anyone is interested I can post the archive. If there is interest, I would be happy to whip up a news site for the new league to complement Jared's module, with links to highlights, writeups, etc.

Speaking of replays, Jared, did you find anything out about being able to use the embedded html for brightcove.com ?
Yes, embedded replays in game reports would be awesome. And I haven't had a chance to work on that. Real life has gotten in the way. I will see if I can make some time today to figure out embedded video for these forums. No promises on getting it done today...have a long day at work, and a 3+ hour drive up to the in-laws tonight. But I'll try and work on a quick solution during lunch today.

Jared, if you could pull it off it would be great. Let me know if you need anything from the old site - I still have the bowl game graphics, etc.

Edit - I've played around with things a bit and found that it is cake to embed videos if you are using CS3 with Dreamweaver and Flash. You can download the flv file from the EA site and just drag-and-drop. The results are VERY cool!

I don't want to step on your toes, but if it saves you some work I would be happy to post a prototype for your preview.

Aha! Got Brightcove video to work! (Thanks for the example code Seminole). Can someone post step-by-step instructions re: how to upload your EA video to Brightcove (or another video service)? I'll see if I can do that sometime today, but can't from work (they blocked EA.com, and I have no idea what my EASportsWorld password is). We'll put those instructions in the top post. In the meantime....

<embed src='http://admin.brightcove.com/destination ... player.swf' bgcolor='#FFFFFF' flashVars='allowFullScreen=true&initVideoId=1119188167&servicesURL=http://www.brightcove.com&viewerSecureGatewayURL=https://www.brightcove.com&cdnURL=http://admin.brightcove.com&autoStart=false' base='http://admin.brightcove.com' name='bcPlayer' width='486' height='412' allowFullScreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always' seamlesstabbing='false' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... h'></embed>

When you want to use the embed video, you simply paste the embed code on their page. HOWEVER, one part of the code will say something like this:

swLiveConnect='true'

DELETE that part of the embed code, and the embedding will work. If you do not delete that part of the code, the embed will not work (at least for Firefox users). I do not know why.

Feel free to try stuff. I'll also attempt to get other types of embedded video to work as well later. Are there other video services that people will be uploading to?

Here's are two Duke highlights from my heartbreaking, demoralizing loss to Terry's crappy Kent St. team last night.

http://www.easportsworld.com/#video-4781/HOME/2632

The first is a pass on 3rd and 15+ after Kent St. took the lead, but in pure Zeppo fashion, the drive ended up 11 plays long but only a FG to show for it, to tie the game.

The second was the INT that I thought won me the game. I couldn't score the ball on the INT, and the next play I ran a flea flicker which got the receiver WIDE open, but of course the DT for Kent St. was able to ignore the HB and sacked me before I could throw the ball. The next play in the game was the INT which Terry took to the house to win the game.

Wanted to give this a try.

Down by 3, Fresno State returns an errant throw.

<embed src='http://admin.brightcove.com/destination ... player.swf' bgcolor='#FFFFFF' flashVars='allowFullScreen=true&initVideoId=1125984489&servicesURL=http://www.brightcove.com&viewerSecureGatewayURL=https://www.brightcove.com&cdnURL=http://admin.brightcove.com&autoStart=false' base='http://admin.brightcove.com' name='bcPlayer' width='486' height='412' allowFullScreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always' seamlesstabbing='false' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... h'></embed>

Fresno trying to protect a 3 point lead late gives up the back breaker.

<embed src='http://admin.brightcove.com/destination ... player.swf' bgcolor='#FFFFFF' flashVars='allowFullScreen=true&initVideoId=1125966461&servicesURL=http://www.brightcove.com&viewerSecureGatewayURL=https://www.brightcove.com&cdnURL=http://admin.brightcove.com&autoStart=false' base='http://admin.brightcove.com' name='bcPlayer' width='486' height='412' allowFullScreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always' seamlesstabbing='false' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... h'></embed>

Driving for perhaps the go ahead score, Fresno States tight end gets a case of brick hands with bad results.

<embed src='http://admin.brightcove.com/destination ... player.swf' bgcolor='#FFFFFF' flashVars='allowFullScreen=true&initVideoId=1125989012&servicesURL=http://www.brightcove.com&viewerSecureGatewayURL=https://www.brightcove.com&cdnURL=http://admin.brightcove.com&autoStart=false' base='http://admin.brightcove.com' name='bcPlayer' width='486' height='412' allowFullScreen='true' allowScriptAccess='always' seamlesstabbing='false' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... h'></embed>

For the record it took no time to do this.

1. Download your flv from EA Sports World
2. Sign up with Bright Cove.
3. Upload the flv's
4. Click on their names on your birght cove page and you'll find the embeed code to the right.
5. make sure to remove the one line jared said to in his post.

Your done.

Also for accurate reports you guys are gonna have to note your stats. because i never got a stats email of the game even thought I am set to get one. I don't think that option is working.

I'm not even in this league, but watching people's highlights, particularly the embeds, is pretty damn cool. I thought video uploading would be a little used feature, but now I wish we had it for the WE league.

EA will only email reports for ranked games, I believe. Personally, I think copying down stats is nice but can be a major p.i.a, especially after a loss. I am fine with just the final score, myself, but I am used to copying lots of stuff down for my game reports in the past. I tend to get caught up in that aspect of it, though after a loss I just want to turn the game off. But anyway, I get so caught up in stats and copying stuff down that it adds a ton of time to my league experience, and would welcome the relief of knowing that only the final score is expected. But maybe that's just me.

BTW, does anyone know if they can copy the roster file to a mem card and if it will work for me? I've heard a lot of stuff about the locking up of files, and don't know what is up, but with an old PowerPC mac, I can't use any of the transfer gear out there (as far as I know). So, if anyone would be willing, I would love to send out a mem card to have you copy the file for me so I can get those real names in the game.

I can copy it for you Zep. I have Fairdale's roster that isn't profile-specific.

I don't think a detailed write-up is necessary now that we have the video to show the drama. I like the recaps that provide the final score, maybe some commentary on the game in general, and then a few highlights with captions describing the situation, and play.

A reminder, reporting game stats are NOT mandatory (only final score). Game reports (which can have stats if you want) are encouraged, as are reports with "highlights".

Kent State: 31
Miami OH: 21

Was a hell of a game, with 2 kick returns for TD's, a 68 yard bomb by the Redhawks to cut the deficit to 17-14 just before halftime, and 4 turnovers in the second half to keep the outcome in doubt until the very end.

Great game, XXXIV.
