To be perfectly frank, I don't miss hockey at all right now. I was so ready for the finals to be over. Watching the playoffs is emotionally exhausting. Not to mention all the money spent on beer and bar food. Of course this comes from the guy who's team was up 3-0 in the finals so the sooner it was over the better. I also get to enjoy a summer of following Kings players having their day with the cup and endless highlight videos.
"Be tolerant of those who describe a sporting moment as their best ever. We do not lack imagination, nor have we had sad and barren lives; it is just that real life is paler, duller, and contains less potential for unexpected delirium." -Nick Hornby
The great footie games going on Brazil made me forget about Hockey. For now.
I am sure once the draft gets underway and free agency opens its door in two weeks, my eyes will shift temporarily back to hockey ad I expect some big names being traded this summer.

Well, the first one is my boy Ryan Kesler to ANA. Coming to Lotus land is Bonino, Sbiza and a 1st rounder who will turn into the 24th pick tonight. I'll miss the blood and guts of this team but we gotta get younger.
I am pretty sure that it was the best deal for the 'Nucks at this time even though I am pretty much against trading players playing in the same division.
With the cap going up, we'll see some more bold moves this weekend.
Mickey Mouse will treat them well in their new homes Naples. With Kesler, ANA would become pretty strong in the middle in order to compete with the Kings, that division became just much tougher to compete with.
And continuing to dump salary, and trying to get younger J. Garrison is going on to TPA.
Gone with all the commotion and excitement of the World Cup was the free agent signing on Canada's day today. It's Miller time in Canucks land, I have mixed feelings about this signing as I would prefer to add more depth up front. Granted Eddie Lack is still a year away from potentially being the next Corey Schneider so Miller adds some security in that position.
Big winners are teams like FLO and DAL who signed J. Spezza. Watching him play along the likes of Hemski, Benn and Seguin will be fun to see. Panthers added some veterans who along a nice group of prospects will be out of the eastern basement.
I like the signing of Ehrhoff in PIT for just one year after losing two key D-men.
Iginla will add some good experience and depth to COL after they lost Stastny.
Minny with Vanek makes them deeper and Moulson goes back to BUF.
