I am working on a proposal now...give me 15-30 minutes and I will post the mini leagues here.

Again, everyone will get the team they want....if they play each other in the playoffs...then they will be truly equal.

So we now lost the big league format?

Let me guess al the regulars will be in their own mini-league division right?

I can't believe we got enough people to have an actual league an we are scraping it because of a few people.

I'm all for a shorter season, which is hypocritical since this morning I was a proponent of a 17-week season! But that was written out of blind zeal rather than reality.

The reality is there are only three genres in which I want to devote time to a full-blown, full-length league: Hockey, racing and shooting.

But I'm all for a divisional setup where we either try to get geographic balance or maybe play balance, putting one stud, two average players and one stiff in each division. Then we have playoffs and a Super Bowl.

I would really enjoy that if it was an eight-game season, playing each team in your division twice and then maybe two crossovers. If that's a system everyone would like, then I'll stick with the Bills.

Otherwise, have a great time, guys. And I still want to play you cats in random games.

Take care,
PK

Dan:

Hey, no league is being scrapped because of Zeppo and I. Nor are we blackmailing the league bosses into a smaller, shorter league. We simply backed out of the full-blown league when reality bit.

Would you rather us ditch the league in Week 3 and really f*ck things up?

Take care,

Also, there is room for a 5th or 6th team in each league....doesn't matter if 10 people want the Dolphins IMO.

There will be a 6-8 game league depending on the final number of teams.

Post if anyone has recommendations.

So let me get the gist of this. There are 4 teams in my "league" So I get to play the same 3 guys twice? I don't get to play anyone outside of my league in your system right?

Zeppo, will the ESPN servers allow for people to have the same team in the league?

if not, I will shuffle the copy teams around so they don't play in the same mini league/division.

Danimal, I know that stinks in a way...but to fit everybody in the fairest way possible with the team of their choice. I think this is the best route.

Plus, if you finish in the top 2, you will play others in the sweet 16 playoffs.

We can also see if there's demand for multiple leagues.

So we could have one "master" DSP league where we try and play a full NFL season with 32 teams. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

Then we could also have the league that Pigpen suggested.

The pros of this is that everyone can play with the team "they want". Yet those that want to play a full DSP NFL season can do this as well. The only problem is that two leagues might be too much for some. But if that's the case, we can see who's interested in only one league and go from there.

And I have a question. IF we were to do a 17-week, 32 team NFL season, would it have to be one game a week? For example, is it possible to play games out of order, so that I could play my week 5 game against PK first if I see him online, then my week 12 game against Slumberland, etc? That flexibility might make the full league go quicker for those that have crappy teams. The idea of having a full 32 team league is really excellent, and I don't want it to die that quickly.

(Ohh....another idea is that our "first" league can be the "Pigpen" divisional league, and then the next league would be the full 32-team league. That would then show who is a responsible player and who isn't....so that we don't get stuck with lame owners in the 17-week, 32-team league. Although I really think that won't be a problem....I've been in leagues last year with DSP people, and everyone has been EXCELLENT in getting their games in and being responsible. Anyways, I'm just trying to throw out some solutions to make everyone happy.)

For those who prefer a traditional NFL league format, we still have openings for our ESPN NFL 2K5 XBox league at FGN. We will be using a unigue draft module this year to select teams and will have a pre-season schedule up soon after the draft is over.

Well I am all for that. I understand the need for everyone to get in. but the two guys who stepped aside did so because they didn't think they could devote the time and I apladue them for that.

As cheesy as it sound, I can't tell you how long I have waited for the ability to have a full online leagues, which is why I was being such an ass about losing that option.

So if others are interested I say we go for it.

Wow, how did this escalate to this? This turned from cool to crap in record time. I don't want Zep and PK to step down, I want them in the league. The problem is both of them are nice and honorable and will gladly step down for others even though they responded very early in the thread. Do we really have more than 32 guys wanting in this league at this point? I'm sorry, but if you came to this thread this late then you should be happy to get a team instead of taking advantage of the nicety (yes I'm creating words damnit) of the others. That's my 2 cents.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.

Why don't we do the divisional thing first, as stated, and wait to do the 32 team legue when some good rosters come down the pipe? I'm sure most everyone would want to have correct rosters correct?

Hey Pigpen, please add me to one of the divisions on your draft. I will pick from what ever team is not being used in my division.
Thanks!

Yeah, I agree with the Truth. Why don't we try a shorter league first, and see how that goes? Plus, it's July freakin' 22, we've got lots o' time to get a full 17 week league in. Plus, I think it would be fun to do the full NFL league during the actual season -- parallel the real thing.

I also want to add that I do not want anyone to bow out of the 32 team league because of me. I would hate to see zepp, pk, or anyone else have to do that. I will gladly take my alt #2 spot and be happy to wait for someone to drop or what not if in fact you do go through with the original 32 team league.

It's all about just playing the game right? Have fun! :D

I've posted three times now that I would like in.

First choice is the Eagles.

Second choice would be the Packers.

Thanks.
