OT: New job
Hi guys. You all know I have been out of work for a bit.

Just letting you all know I have accepted a job at ATI (yes, the ATI that makes the Radeon graphics cards.)

I won´t be working on the graphics cards, I´ll be working on graphics technology for the handheld market.

Not sure when I start, probably in a couple of weeks. Gotta get ready to sell the house, and be away from my family at the start. That part is going to SUCK!

Anyway... just a status update in case anyone cares.

Congrats James! That´s great news. I know firsthand how much it sucks to be unemployed. Glad you found something and I´m glad it sounds interesting too. And of course the whole board expects the latest cards available.
Congrats! And if your travels to and from Ottawa during the transition take you on Interstate 81 through Syracuse, you know where you can stop for a beer, a meal, some conversation and some Xbox gaming!

Congratulations!
I know being apart is not going to be fun, but just keep telling yourself that it is temporary. My wife is working in Columbia, SC right now and I am back in Atlanta metro working at my job and selling the house.

Well Spook, it IS a load off my mind, but I dread the next month or two (or three) of being away from my family, trying to sell a house and find a place near ATI to live. I´m a hardcore family guy, I´m going to miss my wife and kids TERRIBLY. I know it is going to be especially hard on my wife.

I´ll keep you boys posted.

Yeah, that is gotta be very tough. I didn´t think about that aspect. I knew you were in Canada so I assumed that you maybe were already in the Toronto area.
