Well…my 3S crapped out. Lost all tracking. Did all of the reset and syncing stuff suggested and apparently it’s a thing that happens w a hardware failure. So now the question is…if I’m already dealing with the return and exchange at Best Buy…do I just suck it up and pay for the regular 3 or just stick w the 3S. I mean I know the answer, just want confirmation lol.

Dude, that sucks.

That's a tough one. I haven't really looked in to seeing if the upgrade is worth the $200 difference.

I haven't had an issue, but you made me look into it more and found where you can enter your serial number to see if your unit can be affected. Mine shows it is not affected. Now whether that is true or not who knows. Oh well, not much you can do.

Well I went into Best Buy just planning on staying 3s until I put on the demo 3 at the store. At least for me with glasses it was night and day. Fit better w my frames and was a bit less cumbersome. So I’ll get some gaming in tonight and see how it really compares. So now my pockets are $200 lighter. lol. Shocking, I know.

Definitely would like to hear your comparison. Even if it is just on Golf+. Doubt very seriously I upgrade, but still curious.

It really is significant in one area soecifically. Played a few rounds of Golf+ and the biggest difference is that it’s all in focus all of the time. W the 3S I really had to find a sweet spot and then try to keep my eyes there. That said, because I haven’t received the prescription lenses I ordered yet, I do notice that the field of vision seems a touch narrower on the 3. My eyes are a little further away with my glasses on inside of the headset. I also notice a bit more vingetting in the 3 (meaning the outside edges of the lens gets a little darker). I actually went in and looked to see if the brightness was turned down which I never did on the 3s.

It comes down to this…if you don’t have an issue finding the sweet spot and you don’t really notice the blurriness on the edges, then keep your 3S. If you have issues finding it, like I did, then it’s a nice upgrade from that point of view. I can’t tell the difference in resolution so that isn’t even a consideration for me.

Dang it... I've been away from this forum for way too long. This thread addresses my current interest in the Meta Quest 3/S, Golf+, and most recently what seems to be the deal maker for me anyway.... the DeadEyeVR DriVR Elite club attachment. I had trouble getting into using the Move controller on the golf games that supported it on the PS3 because of the lack of mass in the controller. I just didn't feel enough like a golf swing to satisfy my tactile desires to have it feel analogous enough to a real swing to make me pursue it.

I bought Golf+ for my grandson's Oculus Quest a year ago and found it somewhat enjoyable, but not something I would play with just the motion controller in my hand only. It felt awkward and unfamiliar. At that time I knew nothing of any sort of club attachment for the controllers.

Then I discovered this video, showing off the DeadEyeVR DriVR Elite club attachment. The reviewer is obviously a good golfer and he shows video of how similar his swing is with the DriVR Elite attached to the motions controller on his Meta Quest 3S, to his swing with both woods and irons. He says it feels like he really has a club in his hands with the proper amount of weights inserted into the ballast chamber at the end of the club.

Reading the reports here of you guy's satisfaction with the game, and how much club attachments enhance your enjoyment of the game, coupled with this video review below. I think it won't be long before I join your ranks. I've read multiple reviews now from golfers who say that the DriVR Elite attachment makes the game for them.

Anyway, here's a very good video review of this product:

Thanks. Sounds like I will definitely stick with the 3S for now. The Quest Game Optimizer ups the resolution on games that can handle it and also has a setting to reduce blurriness on the edges.

While the DeadEyeVR is highly regarded, I went a different route w/ the Yoges 90 degree. One thing that pissed me off about the DEVR is the fact that you have to contort your arms after literally every shot to advance...flip the whole club around and press the trigger just to get to the next shot where the 90 degree options, that are facing the correct way, are much easier and convenient. When I'm hitting hundreds and thousands of shots, I want ease of use first. I used my buddies DEVR for a few rounds and while it felt a little more like a real golf club, it still was WAY different than a real club and it just doesn't matter...it's video game golf. Just something to think about.

How much did you have to adjust that Yoges attachment to hit somewhat straight shots? It's crazy how much I had to adjust mine, which is also a 90 degree one. From what I have read and seen on any of these different attachments, it seems almost random who has issues with the ridiculous slice/fades.

I didn’t. I’m good at golf in real life. Lol.

Just kidding. I’ve got the same slight fade in the game as I have in real life. I don’t want to use software settings to fix it. I know what I need to do most of the time to hit straight but 30 years of swinging a baseball bat has always been my struggle. On Amateur I’m right around even par to a few over which is fine for me at this point in the game. A nice challenge.

Interesting. I've never had a slice like this in real golf. If anything I tend to hook every now and then. No matter how I setup to the ball or adjust my swing, it would show me coming from the outside in on my swing causing the slice. I also have to rotate my grip quite a bit for a closed face to not have the face open on contact.

The one I have is not listed in the attachments in the game so I had to use the custom setting. Also, it has a plate that you Velcro over the top of the controller to keep it secure. Which looks to be right where the sensors are lol.

I have an Amazon gift card so I think I will give the Yoges a try.

Received the Yoges attachment yesterday and it made a world of difference. I chose the Yoges controller in the setting and changed all my adjustments back to default. Sliced my first two or three shots, but I was actually able to fix that with my swing, which was something I was not able to do with the other attachment. It's also much easier to connect the controller to the attachment.

Guess I should have done more research instead of jumping on the cheap black friday deal

Haha yeah, glad you got it worked out. One thing to really pay attention to is your back swing. If you take a full back swing the cameras lose track for a split second and it just fills in the blanks w the AI. I just take about a 3/4 back swing and that helps a bit.

Just had a great workout with Les Miles Combat.

Max Mustard is a very underrated platformer.

Excited to check out the new Elvis course in Walkabout.

Gotta give Golf + a more serious look.

The Elvis course is pretty cool in Walkabout. For $3.99, it's worth it in my opinion. There are other DLC courses I think that are more highly reviewed, but I haven't downloaded them....yet.

So, I tried a 7 day free trial of Supernatural Fitness. Two thumbs up. Love that they have music from real artists during the workout. I've done 4 or 5 workouts and you definitely work up a sweat. This game is hugely popular based on the number of users on Facebook. I think I'll subscribe a month and see how it goes. So far, so good.
