One bit of logistics before we proceed. The Chiefs knew immediately upon seeing the video that Hunt would never play for them again. They waited until the NFL put him on the Commissioner Exempt List to ensure he wouldn’t play against them this season.

I wouldn't put it past the NFL to tell the Chiefs to cut Hunt, deflecting attention from the probable fact the NFL knew about this tape and did nothing until it was exposed. F*cking Goodell -- the worst commissioner in pro sports.

From the facts of the case, it's pretty clear why they may have never considered it. The woman was not injured and the police found no reasons to file charges. They did take a complaint from a woman who was assaulted by the victim. when the NFL investigated, the vicdimdid not make herself available to the NFL. It seems like it was over, and no one was complaining, including the victim.

The tape changed things because the hunt's story that he told the Chiefs did not match the tape. Honestly, that looked like a 2-4 game suspension offense. Despite TMZ's headlines, no one was brutalized. And the worst of it happened when Hunt tried to break free from others, ran into a guy who than knocked into the woman. There is no good domestic violence, but this was different than the other cases that are brought up, including the Ray Rice case.

But, regardless, Hunt was guilty of a physical altercation with a woman, and he lied about it.

Teams probably don't want to know.

Now the Chiefs can say Hunt lied to them and wash their hands of the matter. But they easily could have suspected or hired investigators to find out.

There's no upside for them to do so though. NFL is going to look around anyways and they have plausible deniability if they never look deep into it themselves.

So play the star player and get as much out of him as possible. If an incriminating video surfaces, discard him and draft the next guy.

I was upset with the Bears yesterday but in the morning light I remind myself that however this season transpires it is all gravy. I wasn't expecting them to compete until next year. With that said a win yesterday would of locked the division with the Viking and Packers losing.

Mitch could of played yesterday, he is 100% healthy. Having insider information as a fan is not great when you're watching a 10 million dollar stiff in Chase Daniel's stink up the field. These are lessons a young coach will hopefully learn, you can't take any NFL game for granted. I'm not sure the coaches thought process in keeping him out or still saying he is day to day. Nagy has a bit of an ego and I'm really not sure what he is doing.

Unfortunately the writing is on the wall for my favorite player Jordan Howard. For whatever reason Nagy doesn't like him, when the Bears had nothing for 2 years Howard was our one bright spot rushing for over 1000 yards in an offense where opposing teams knew all we could do is run the ball.

Now in an offense not designed to run the ball he gets few carries and is put in very few positions to succeed. Even when he does get going like yesterday when he single handedly led the Bears down the field to set up "the freezer" score by Hicks he mysteriously doesn't see the field for 2 series, almost as if Nagy doesn't want him to be too successful. I don't know where Jordan will end up but someone will be getting a hell of a back.

Nagy seems to be a good coach, but I'm wondering if he is a system only guy and once the system gets jammed up if he is capable of change. Only time will tell, I was hoping for an 8-8 season, now where they are at it would be a disappointment but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens. The Giants and 49ers were the winnable games, saving Mitch for an unwinnable game like the Rams was silly coaching at best.

But I remind myself to breathe, 2018 wasn't our year anyway.

As of right now Nagy is still saying Mitch is day to day.

Like I said Mitch could of played last week, Nagy or the Bears didn't want him too. No one is sure why honestly. He has played some very good games and a couple of great ones. Hhe really seems like a good kid... BUT...
