Evidently you can play the beta today IF you are an NHL 17 insider (I am). Everyone else has to wait til tomorrow. Anyone here an insider? If you got 2 extra codes that means you must have signed up for insider.

XXXIV 34 and myself played 5 games of EASHL and had some fun with the builds (Hitting Sniper, etc.). Plenty of stuff to unlock for the team, players and arenas. I messed with the team creator to see how some custom units would look (video below). There is a stock Dragon logo not sure if there was one before. The arena builder is pretty cool. The other video below is of one of the arena goal/win action. There is lightning, fire and the smoke you see below. Again, pretty cool.

Since Diablo was playing with it yesterday, I assume he's sent out the invites to all the Dragons. Don't hold your breath for drastic gameplay changes. Personally I'd like to see how passing is. So, I am calling all Dragons tonight for a crack at the Beta and have a few hours of mindless fun.

Invites can't be sent out until you have the game installed and you have to literally type in each players gamer tag. You can't just go to the friends list and send them - stupid. I'll check in a bit to see who has it installed. Plays very similar to 16. The robo defense seemed better as did the skating. It seemed smoother to me...maybe 34 will say different. I saw more goalie and hit animations. The goal celebrations (once you unlock them) are solid.

So far I like playing D in 17 a lot better than 16.

LW was good too, definitelythe passing feels different.

I had fun, until I was drifting off to zzzzz land. Hopefully tonight!
