I let my oldest kid watch all of "Breaking Bad" and "Trailer Park Boys" at 14 and 15. She's now 16, still a 95 average Advanced Placement student and a two-sport all-league athlete.

Then again, I probably drop an F-bomb two to three times per day in front of my kids, who are 16, 13, and 9. It's called being an Irish-Catholic. Guess it's time for me to surrender my Father of the Year ballot.

Purchased UFC last night for $13.20 on the Xbox One digital download. PS4 version is also on sale for $13.99, or at least it was yesterday. There's quite a bit of fun to be had for that price.

Shipped my copy of Sunset Overdrive back today. It just didn't grab me as I had hoped. It's a fun light hearted game, and maybe I'll pick it up when I can get it for around $20. Perhaps my fingers aren't as dexterious as they used to be.

I forgot how much I missed the ESPN app. It's been great to watch some college basketball on there that I wouldn't have normally been able to watch. It's a lot nicer watching on the big screen as opposed to a tablet screen or computer.

There's still a few titles I haven't played yet (Shadow of Mordor, SSB, Halo MCC, etc.) but I'd have to rank Forza Horizon 2 as my game of the year. It's that good.

fyi but my son has those skullcandy headphones. i noticed the jack was the same as the ps4 or at least similar. i plugged it in and it worked! i could hear the game thru the controller. No output sound since no mic, but no problem, that's all i need it for. So a standard headpiece should work on PS4.

Really good time to get an XB1 if you want one. With MS Store current deal you could trade in a 360 and get the XB1 with a bundle for $229. That's just ridiculously a good price.

Does anyone have issues with games bought on the Xbox Store not downloading to the console, even when I have Instant On and Download automatically on?

I bought Shadows of Mordor from the Smartglass app today, and when I turn on my Xbox just now, it wasn't there. I had to go to the Storefront, find the game, and hit Install..........

I thought the latest system update was supposed to let me basically come home and play right away since it was downloaded and installed?

I get that too. It does download the game but it should also be installed too. I have all the settings set up properly I THINK.

That pretty much sums it up. I literally got my XB1 last night and was setting everything up when this happened. Couldn't download apps or games for a little while although it eventually cleared up.
