People rip EA here and at other sports gaming forums, but EA makes downloading user-created fighters and rosters so easy in Fight Night Champion and NCAA 13, respectively, through Xbox Live.

Too bad Konami can't do the same with option files for PES.

XB is a pain at first but easy once you know how to do it.

Best site to get PES Option / Roster files :

Will thumb drives work for transfer files?

BTW, brilliant demo! This might actually stop playing PES 2010 on my trusty PS2 :)

I finally got around to spending some time with the demo last night. The PS3 version plays flawless with no slowdowns. My initial impressions are that this looks to be the best PES version of this generation. The game is smoother all around and very responsive. Shooting once again feels like shooting. That being said Konami has a history of some final versions being worse the demo. The online component to me is very important and last years version was the first in years that provided a reliable, lag free experience. Hopefully that trend continues.

Yes.. USB drives work for option files on the 360. I used an option file on the 2011 season and that process was pretty straight forward. Can't speak to last years process.

Very impressed with the demo. The visuals seem a tad crisper and the gameplay has a nice flow to it. Seems like there's a bit more time to handle the ball before defenders swarm. Attacking is still the focus, which I don't mind at all.

I only wish this was available on the Vita as well. I think that they are "working on a Vita PES", but not sure if it's going to be for this year's version or next year's.

I agree that this version is the best PES version on this gen. It feels like a new game in many ways. If Konami botch this up and make the final release worse than the demo then I will be a bit pissed. I don't think I've ever played a demo as much as I have played PES this year.

There will definitely be no Vita PES this year. I think next year we will probably see something for Vita, and if the 3DS PES games are any indication the game should be awesome. PES on the 3DS is nice.

Just get rid of the framerate dips on the x360 and I'll be a happy camper!

I have so much trouble doing the moves that use the R-stick! What's the trick Macca?

I guess taking a year off from PES has been good because I am having tons of fun with the demo. So much crazy stuff happens all the time! Goals come from out of nowhere sometimes. I can't get enough of trying to dribble people either with fancy moves or just basic tming and changing pace. I'm excited to start the master league adventure all over again, get through the first couple of awful seasons with the default stiffs and start to build a decent team. I'm one who simply has to have the classic players available in ML. I hope that stuff is still in there.

Spent more time with the demo tonight and I'm going to say it.. This feels like a next gen version of WE9. Endless possibilities on offense, great physics and plenty of oh my moments. My fear is that the demo is so damn good I don't want them
to mess it up. I'd be thrilled if they did nothing more.

Yes... Bring on the Master League :)

Agree with you lot.
Some things that i feel should be tweaked for me to truly call this a revelation is on the thru balls it seems even when you switch to the closest defender and press sprint the player will not sprint unless you super cancel and then go again but with no closing speed with defenders its too late and the attacker is thru on goal. The defenders are in good position but its like they are nerfed in those situations and the thru balls come off too frequent as a result. I would say the ratio should be15 to 20 % success rate in favor of forwards, at the moment its the opposite of that.
The other thing that bothers me is in the way it handled the pass receiver , with the manual passing it seems it gets confused on who your trying to feed it too, most of the time its minor but sometimes its pretty bad when the receiver you intended just stands there or runs out the way while a guy from miles away is selected and running to the pass.

Other than those little things the game is pure class.

I can't seem to find any clear step by steps about option files for either machine, my Internet skills are clearly not up to snuff, but I'll assume for the 360 I'd need a windows machine to make whatever software is required to deal with the data work? Am I right in thinking for the PS3 it's more straightforward and would work with my MacBook without any special applications?

Here's my big problem. Because of my display, which makes 720p look like crap compared to 1080i, the demo on the 360 looks worlds better than the PS3 demo. I mean worlds better; crisper, sharper, brighter, better colors, etc. I'm sure most of that could be adjusted with all the tools they give you in the game to tweak the look, but the fuzziness and especially the soft text of the player names is just awful coming out of the PS3.

But besides option file nuttiness, I'd like to have the option to play people here online, so I want to get a sense of who's leaning towards which machine. I will say the days when the PS3 controller was better suited to the game seem to be over and done with, so basically the sole element outside of people to play online that would push me to PS3 would be option file availability.

360 here, my forever lover. Footy is one of the few team sports for which I enjoy head-to-head gaming on XBL. So I look forward to matches against you and others, man.

Very likely that I'll get it for 360.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for DSP league/tourney action, and I presume I Will figure out the option file stuff eventually.

Yep, if someone can figure the transfer options for the 360, I am in because so far I am more inclined to go with he PS3 version.

There is a ton of stuff to do on offense, and I haven't explored all the dribbling moves properly yet because there's no free training mode to do it in. But this type of goal was a hundred times harder to pull off in PES 6.

I'll definitely be getting the PC version, unless something goes horribly wrong.

Editing the PS3 version last year easy but horribly lengthy as we needed to install (not download) wary file individually onto the ps3. It took me a few hours.

Konami also has various versions of the game. Of course, option files are not compatible across versions.

The crazy thing about that beautiful goal, Feanor, is that it doesn't feel like cheap cheese in PES. There's a certain organic quality to the game that FIFA hasn't matched, and some of the moves seem easier to pull off this season due to the better implementation of the right stick.

I'm stoked out of my brains for this game.

Zep.. So true about the PS3 graphics between the consoles. last year I bought it for the PS3 based on option files and couldn't believe the difference the graphics between the two. I thought it was the TV I was playing on until I connected my PS3 to my primary TV. Still looked like rubbish compared to the 360 version.

I'll be buying the 360 version.

The second demo is expected to be out next week.

From WEB blog they are letting us play 10 minute halves. That would be a first for a demo.
