Yeah, but it definitely will increase Sega's. No question. EA disciples now may buy both games.Boom wrote:Funny, but this still won't put a dent in EA's sales.skidmark wrote:Watch out EA, you just got Japped!
$20 for a top-shelf sports video game? That's almost theft.
I guess there's only one downside to this: If Sega doesn't see a decent increase in sales and still gets killed by EA even with this price point and with this feature-packed game, where does it go from here? Does it pull the plug for the 2006 series? Stranger things have happened.
Take care,
PK

It just dawned on me that Take-Two was the company that bought Hypnotix (developers of Outlaw Golf). They stated at E3 that OG 2 would also be $19.99.
Edit Well looks like there is some speculation about the $19.99 price.

If you preorder it online through eb, you have the option to have it shipped for free to a local store. They even give you a field to fill in a phone # to reach you at when it arrives, so it looks like its pretty much the same process as preordering from a store counter.wco81 wrote:Hmm, you can pick it up at the stores?
I was leery because they said web prices may not apply at the stores.
Is this the price everywhere or just a web special?

Oh Sh*t,
I just noticed the features list from the one at www.Gamestop.com is from last years game. If I get 3 copies of last years game, I'm gonna explode!

Same for me Piggy. Preordered both online for $19.99 each and I'm having them shipped to the store within 7-8 minutes from my house for free. I would have gladly paid $50 for each game but at $19.99 I feel dirty. I must bathe now.pigpen81 wrote:Just oredered it at EB....yeehaw...shipping to the store 2 miles from me.
1st....INDY Car Racing
now ESPN 2K5....$40 for both...holy crap
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Do they charge sales tax for shipping out of state?
BTW, th only deal I'm aware of for Madden 2005 is that they will give you $10 trade-in for Madden 2004, which is about what you'd net if you sell Madden 2004 now.
Unfortuantely EB changed it's tax policy a month or so ago and they charge tax in every state that has an EB store. They did this so people could buy online and return games back to a local store. So if you have an EB in your state you will have to pay tax.
IGN has chipped in it's 2 cents
Sources at ESPN Videogames let us know that a final price has not been determined or announced. This means that the information could be erroneous, but it seems unlikely. Chances are, ESPN NFL 2005 will ship at the budgeted price of $19.95.
An official announcement and price are expected soon.
One more deal for those who have to have the product shipped to their house. Get overnight shipping for the cost to ship ground.
If you order from gamestop.com enter the coupon code OVR4GRND in the coupon box

This is also good for any pre release game (offer good until June 30th)

It is correct, the retailers let it out of the bag too early. Not sure if this means Sega will move up their official announcement or just let the rumor mill keep growing since it is causing a buzz.Sudz wrote:tge top 3 videogame retailers having it fro $19........i bet it is correct.
But regardless of whether you believe it, you should order it at that price. If the price does go up, EB usually will honor the price (they have for me in the past) and if they don't you can cancel it if you like.
For those who were going to buy it anyway (like me) it is a no brainer.

Hey thanks for the overnight shipping code, Bdoughty...I've off to order it right now. I was hoping someone would have one of these codes to use..and you've come through in spades man.
Getting an A+ NFL game for $25 shipped overnight. My day just got a whole helluva lot better (and it was pretty good to begin with).

I ordered in store delivery for EB and there is no shipping charge, only has this disclaimer with the order "If the product is not picked up with 48 hours, you have authorized us to charge a $5.00 fee to cover the cost of shipping and handling to the store.wco81 wrote:Hey guys, those who ordered from EB, did they charge shipping in addition to sales tax if you ordered for in-store delivery?
