My new Cup ride:

Tim Hortons donuts and coffee -- as an NHL freak, I couldn't resist! Plus it's a good-looking car.

Terry, I sent this to your OS address to add to your multiplayer list so I can be seen during online races.

Thanks,
PK

Here's a link to add to Terry's terrific collection -- a PDF of the game manual:

This dude has some very, very nice fictitious paint schemes for Cup, Truck and Aero88s:

http://www.clebrowns63.com/

At the rate I'm downloading, I'm going to have close to 200 vehicles from which to choose among Cup, Busch, Truck and Aero88. This is fun as hell! :)

Take care,
PK

I still think the one that Terry made for me a few years ago was the best ever. The thing was so fecking sweet.

I'm going to have Terry build an Edmonton Oilers car for me. Can't wait. :)

NR2003 has always been more fun for a wider range of players than GPL. GPL is almost the elitist type of game where it's really more work than fun just to be competitive...I've always had a hard time playing it for any length of time because I always run into the same feelings. I either turn 1,000 laps a week to learn the track, or I just become a wrecking ball. No fun. It's almost just to be able to say "I can drive GPL" that I press onward...not because I want to. It's like an accomplishment in itself, and I just want to race.

I'd have chosen NR2003 from the beginning because it's not quite as simple as people may think, plus fixed setups help equalize the field a bit. You'll always have more people willing to run a game that yields better racing for more people any day of the week.

About all I could whip up this afternoon and the low-res car viewer makes it look like crap. I'll have to check it in the game later, but the older cars were "simpler" than the current Cup cars with regards to graphics, so it was tough to fit all the stuff you wanted on the car without it being over-cluttered.

Hey Folks,

With pk500's assistance, I'm in the process of obtaining the game.

I hope to figure this thing out next weekend, but I fear that work will start to (unwillingly) consume my life.

Regards,
Smurfy.
