Boys:
Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Plopped on the couch to watch some tube around 9 p.m., and I was out by 9:30. Woke up at 1:15 a.m., dragged my ass to bed and didn't wake up until 7:30 this morning.
I think my body was telling me something, screaming, "F*CK YOU!" for all the nights I have stayed up late recently playing GPL.
Again, apologies. I'd like to race again soon -- and I'll be there this time.
Take care,
PK

So it sounds like Wednesday nights will work best for everyone for a league night? What about time? I was thinking 10:00 to 10:30 to accomodate the west coasters. Any time preferences?

I'm guessing you guys are already set but in case anyone ever needs a new wheel I can recommend the following online deal:
http://www.justdeals.com/Items/963282-0403?
Less than $50 for a refurb Logitech MOMO. I was a little sceptical but it arrived in the retail box in near mint condition and appears to work fine. It even had the software and all manuals. Now to start working on my GPLRank.

Be careful of the paddle shifters on those MOMO Racing wheels. They had tons of issues on those (mine had the issues). Logitech sent me a replacement and I think they solved the problem and redid the wheels.
It's a well documented problem where the paddles start acting funny, triggering multiple times per press or not triggering.
I still have mine, but don't use the paddle shifters.

Thanks everyone. My handicap has tumbled since you lot started playing in earnest, especially since Piggy sent me some setups. Without those I'd never have got there - thanks mate.
PK, the instant I persuade someone that the broadband cables trailing around the house are worth it, I'm in. I fear that instant is quite a way off, but GPL never gets old...

Btw, Adam,
You post any good times in a Ferrari per chance?
I'm still using Alison Hine's Ferrari setups circa 2001. Anyone know if there have been Ferrari setup improvements since then?
I'm firmly of the belief that my driving is far more to blame than any setup issue, but I'm always willing to get any edge I can.

Ha, I knew those two years I spent ending every post with my name would serve me well I'm not altogether sure what prompted me to stop doing that, actually...
Randy, I only found the time to put any sort of work into GPL in the last couple of years, and the cars I've focused on are the Eagle and the Lotus. I don't think I've done more than 5 consecutive laps in a Ferrari, and I haven't used it at all for Heaven knows how long. No, then, is the answer - not a single good time in it, nor a single good setup.

I should be there, fellas. The Glen, Kyalami, the local kart track -- doesn't matter to me.

I agree...the Glen is a perfect "get your feet wet" track. Kyalami always kicks my ass at the first corner where you try to brake heading downhill, and then...well, actually every one of them. The next right hander, the quick left, the longer right into the tight left, the little chicane, and big right hand sweeper all get me. The only one I can nail is the full-throttle final bend before the straight
