I second the crapiness of Ice Harvest. I'm a huge Cusak fan, but that movie was pretty much one of the worst I have ever seen. The only reason I could even sit through the whole thing is because of Cusak. Otherwise I probably would have left.

I personally liked Courtney Cox in "Scream". She was in another older movie I can't recall now.

I'll take Ace Ventura for best movie by a Friends cast member.

"The Whole Nine Yards" was pretty hilarious as well starring Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis.

Recently watched movies:

The Aristocrats - Very crass, but not offensive. Got very old very fast. Poo poo and Pee pee jokes can only last so long and while the premise of the documentary was interesting (kind of) the content was not. 1.5 out of 5.

Domino - Interesting take on a real life female bounty hunter. Overly music video type production though. Story gets more interesting as it goes on but overall was just average IMO. 2.5 out of 5.

Crash - It was intriguing and semi-thought provoking but just did not grab me like it did others. It was too obvious and predictable and not really heart jerking to me. 3 of 5.

Walk the Line - Thought this one too was just okay. Great acting, but, like 'Ray', IMO, the story was nothing exciting and did not really make me care about these individuals. 3 of 5.

One of my recent favorites was Jarhead. It didn't get much talk here, but I thought it was a sensational movie. Not as much about the killing and dying of war, but more about the psychological issues that a soldier faces everyday while involved in a war. I can't say enough about how much I loved this movie.

I certainly enjoyed History of Violence, but I have no idea why all the critics raved about it. Solid movie, but not memorable.

What impressed me most about the movie was that the songs sung by the actors were their real voices. I didn't necessarily care one way or another for Johnny Cash as a person, but I did come to appreciate his music.

I rented Good Night, and Good Luck this weekend. Thought it was tremendously well done and entertaining. Makes you wonder about the media today and if anyone would have the balls to do what Murrow did. A different world, that's for sure.

Stay - I rented it because I like Ewan McGregor and anything with Naomi Watts in it is worth checking out. However, this movie was a huge effing pile of cow dung. Seriously. I'm warning you now, save your money and 2hrs of your life.... rent Jacob's Ladder if you want the same concept of a movie but done 10x better. Don't get me wrong, I like movies that make you think like Mulholland Drive, Donnie Darko, Memento, Fight Club, 12 Monkeys, etc but skip this one as it was not well written.

Rented Rear Window a while back, which I had never seen. Great movie, the dialog in old Hitchcock films was so sharp.

We're trying to see add some classics to the Netflix rotation. I have Touch of Evil at home right now.

Maltese Falcon and Casablanca are amazing.

Yeah, but I'm sure it's not the same as seeing them on the big screen, right? :P

When I used to have a BB membership I would usually use my free rentals on a classic. My goal was to see all the movies in that top 100 list the AFI released back in 2000(?). I think I've seen most of them by now.

Rear Window is great. Hitchcock was the best at what he did. Raymond Burr was pretty creepy as the heavy. Stewart was Stewart.
I love Grace Kelly. she was the sweetest thing...

Speaking of Grace Kelly and Hitchcock...
To Catch a Thief is a very good Grant/Kelly movie . North By Northwest is another all time great.

There is a gold mine of older movies. People take the time and give them a chance. You will be glad you did.

As is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.

That is a great idea...I think I have seen most of them too. Though I disagree with some of that list. Made My own. Somedays it gets slow here.

I have not read this thread, so I have no clue what movies have/not been mentioned. However, this weekend I watched Hostel and loved it. It reminded me of Saw except I thought Hostel was better.... and well Saw II flat out sucked.

.... Hostel starts out slow (full of women - like a slasher flic). Then it gets good(not that women are bad. :D ).

It says the movie is based partly on "true" events. I have no idea what was true ect... I searched the net today and did not find anything.
