I would prefer mixed league with extra bench spots, but I'm okay with single league if that's the preference.

Also, what are we doing about the money? Can we use Paypal?

bad news fellas- looks like i will have to fold.. i had to make a switch with another person i work with, so i got stuck working the pm shift.. i wont be able to make it to the live draft.. only other thing i could do was to pre-rank my players, but i dont know what we are doing...

Hulkster...with you we have 10. Lets make a decision by 12 EST tonight on what we want. Then you can pre-rank.

Guys, we are up to 11. I say we play both leagues.

Are we up for a $5 fee so the winner will get $55?

Or do we want to keep it completely free and play for pride?

Either $5 or pride is okay with me.

The $55 won't be much of a motivating factor when compared to the fun of just competing, etc...

I'm also cool with playing either all MLB or one league- plus if guys can't draft tomorrow night, I wouldn't mind an extra week to prepare...

I'm fine with $5 or even $10. If we made it $10 we could split it up something like $75/$25 for 1st and 2nd.

I can make the draft, but if people want to hold it next week I'm fine with that too. I fel a little unprepared at this point, but either is fine by me.

Also, I want to keep it MLB, not just an AL or NL draft.

OK, lets go with $5, winner takes all.

Jackdog, do you want to hold the money?

If we postpone the draft, we might not get a good time....spots for live drafts are slim.

For what it is worth, I haven't done any research or even paid attention to MLB spring training. I did by a draft guide 3 weeks ago that I have barely lookled at.

It still is not to late if anyone else wants to join. We are at 11 strong DSP'ers at this point. It will be fun.

I think it would be better if we added a few more roster slots. Three OF slots isn't very many, especially in an 11 team mixed league.

Right now, the starting lineups consist of 11 hitters and 7 pitchers. That's less than 200 active players in the league. The #201 player in the Yahoo rankings is Francisco Liriano, who is pretty good unless you're Brian Sabean. 44 more players won't make the draft significantly longer and it'll make for a deeper, better league IMHO.

I'd suggest adding two more of each. On the offensive side, add one OF and either another UT, a second C or a fifth OF.

Prepare? I'm just getting around to reading the rules! This is my first baseball league.

I know it's not head-to-head, but how often do we update our starting lineup? Can we change it every day or is it weekly? This may be a dumb question, but is CI corner infielder and MI middle infielder? I'm I reading this correctly that we have to start 2 SP, 2 RP, and the other 3 pitching spots can be our choice?

Leebo, you can change the line-up daily, all the way until 30 minutes before a game usually. meaning, if a team plays at 1:00 EST, you can't change that player for that day, however, you can sub someone out of your line-up later that day if they play at 10:00 PM EST.

CI is corner infielder, MI, middle infielder.

League is 5 X 5 = 5 offensive, 5 defensive categories.

R, RBI, Runs, AVG, SB's

Wins, Saves, ERA, WHIP(walks + hits/ innings pitched), K's

Since theire are 11 teams in the league, if you have the most HR's on your team, then you get 11 points for that category, 10 for second most, etc.

I hope this helps. See you in 2 hours.
