and it is a completely different game. It is smooth as silk and load times are improved. From my understanding, the new UMD's are on the shelves now. You may want to give Madden another look if you dismissed it after all the hiccups in the original.

snate,
How can I tell if I have a new Madden 06 UMD? I just bought it yesterday from Best Buy and don't have a PSP yet. Is there any way to check just by looking at the numbers on the disc itself? Thanks.

The code on the UMD ends in 07 in the older software. New software will end in 17. The packaging is the same.

snate,
Thanks. So, I just have to look on the disc somewhere for a code ending in 17 for the new one or 07 for the old one? Do you know where exactly I should look for this code?

Obviously Red needs a step by step with some pictures.

"Obviously Red needs a step by step with some pictures."
That'd be great. Post them here.

This is all you have to look over. It shouldn't take you more than a couple of days or so.

Can you play the game with the audio commentary and not have any slowdown?
Thanks.

Yes

It is printed on the front of the UMD where it says Madden 06. It is on the inner circle of writing.

snate.
What exactly did you have to do to receive the new UMD? I have Madden 06 for the PSP and would love to get a hold of the updated version. How long did it take?

Allright, you've convinced me and Im sending mine out today for a replacement. I guess it would be too much to hope I get it back before the Super Bowl.
